Adrian's P.O.V

"How is she?"

Jack huffed and leant against the wall in the hallway.
"She's fine. We were playing Eye Spy, and she kind of ruined it, though?"

"What's Eye Spy?" Solomon said. My face was just as confused as his.

Jack looked at the two of us with disbelief. "You're kidding me right? You're telling me you've never heard of 'eye spy with my little eye'?"

Solomon and I shook our heads.

"It's this game wher-."

Just as Jack was about to tell us about their childish game, Catalina walked out of the room the two girls were in.

"Alpha, the girls want to speak with you."

Ailani's P.O.V

"Okay, okay. Let's forget about that game. What about Duck Duck Goose?" Katie beamed at me, eyes shining with a child-like happiness.

"Katie," I sighed. "That games meant to be played outside. And we need more than 2 people."

"We can make a new version, played with just two people."

"Huh." I half-laughed at Katie's suggestion.

"What's wrong Ailani? You seem a bit... off?" Katie said, scooting closer to me.

"I was feeling fine, but I feel weird again." I admitted, placing two fingers against my temples.

"And explain weird to me, babe?" Katie said, her voice quieter but still laced with concern.

I didn't answer for quite some time, because I couldn't actually tell what was wrong with me. My stomach didn't ache, and yet I felt the urge to throw up. It wasn't cold in the room we were in, but my hairs were standing on end. Something wasn't right, but I didn't know what.

"Do you want me to go and get Adrian?" Katie went to go towards the door. But I stopped her. Something about the mention of Adrian's name made my head spin, and not the good kind.

"Ailani, are you okay."

My vision went blurry. I sniffed the air, and what I smelt made me want to puke.

"Do you smell that?" I said, sniffing frantically.

"Smell what?"

I sniffed myself, but couldn't smell anything. "I smell blood."

Katie was beginning to look startled. "This room is clean, Ailani. I think you should take a rest." Katie was sure that I was imagining things, but she checked the bathroom for the stench of blood just in case.

"It's getting stronger. Somethings not right, Katie. Something's not right." I was beginning to panic.

"Okay, okay. Deep breaths." Katie rushed to my side when she saw me fanning myself with tears coming down my cheeks.

I shook my head, not paying attention to my friend that was trying her best to soothe me.

"Something bad is gonna happen." I was crying now, struggling to take deep breaths.

"Ailani, you're having a panic attack," Katie said a bit louder in my ear. "Nothing bad is going to happen to you. You are fine, you just need some rest."

I slumped down in defeat on the floor. "Something bad is about to happen, Katie."

"Nothing bad is going to happen to y-."

"Not to me. Something bad is going to happen to someone else." The voice came to me as clear as day, sure and certain. "Someone's in trouble."

Adrian's P.O.V

"He wants all of you dead."

"He's made it clear that that's what he wants, Sadie. He's killed nearly all of our pack."

"How?"

"He poisoned you all, the elders said that he used some ancient kind of Mistletoe-."

Shelley, the younger of the two girls that were somehow still alive, spoke up.

"That wasn't meant to kill us."

I shook my head in confusion. "You tell me that he wants us dead, and then you deny he used poison to kill you."

"No. He wants all of you dead." Shelley pointed to myself and Adrian who was standing beside me, and then gestures to Catalina, Jack and Marcus, who were standing outside. "He wants the rest of us alive. He wants a bigger pack."

Solomon was just as muddled as me. "So why would he poison you if he wanted you alive-."

"The poison is not meant to kill as in-." Shelley made a motion of killing herself by slitting her throat, and then proceeded to make very strange dying noises. I was starting to think that these girls were feeling better already.

"The poison is meant to kill the bond between a wolf and it's Alpha."

Solomon sighed. "I've fucking heard it all now."

"So, has it worked?" I asked her, my wolf eager to know if Ivan's plan succeeded.

"No. Not exactly. My wolf still acknowledges you as Alpha, but the mind-link has gone." Shelley said, her eyes glazing over a glossy shade as she tried to contact me through the link. When her eyes changed back to normal 2 seconds later, I knew she wasn't able to talk to me.

"I don't think Ivan knows that the bond between an Alpha and his pack goes far beyond some stupid telepathic power."

"He won't stop until his made the right recipe."

"What do you mean 'made'?" Solomon looked surprised. "Are you meaning to tell me that Ivan made the poison himself?"

"Well not solely by himself, but yeah. He searched everywhere for it, but it couldn't be found. So he decided he would try and make it himself."

"This guy just doesn't stop." I cried, rubbing my hands over my face in frustration.

"Alpha!" Catalina began calling me from outside. "Alpha get out here... Now!"

When I walked out of the room, the wolf inside of me came running to the surface. Ivan was walking towards us, confidently holding a dagger in his left hand, and a smirk on his face.
