Ailani's P.O.V
"Did you see them? We saw them from the top of the cliff, they've come in fucking thousands! How are we gonna survive this Mating Call?"
All of us were gathered around Lake Limpiar, a stack of beers in the middle of a large circle. There were some others that were going for a swim, but as they heard our talk of the Mason Pack, their splashes died down and they swam over to the edge to hear the gossip.
"Alpha Adrian looks a mess, he needs to get his act up before they get here," Andre said. His muscles were tensing as he spoke, it seemed that he wasn't excited about the Mating Call at all.
"He needs his mate." Megan said. "I understand that he's your Alpha, but when it comes to finding your mate, we are all the same. The pain he is going through cannot be numbed until he is with his mate."
"Yeah but he called the fucking Mating Call in the first place, he knew what he was doing." One of the boys in the water said, running his hands through his hair in distress. "I haven't found my mate either bro, but now I'm worrying that someone kills her before I even get the chance to mark her."
"Dude, stop wimping. Your'e only 17, your mate probably isn't even apart of the Mating Call." Lionel said, shaking his head.
They continued to talk, and I continued to sit there, mind wandering off into someplace else. Something deep inside me couldn't help but feel a longing for Adrian. Does it make me a bad person, if I knew that I was his mate all along, and yet hid it from him? The battles I was having with myself only made me feel worse and less engaged with the people around me.
"Ailani!" A splash of cold water on my face woke me from my daze. I jumped in shock and looked around to see Solomon and Catalina standing a few feet away from the circle, eyes latched onto mine.
"What's up?" I said, standing onto my feet. Everyone looked at me as I walked nearer to them, an awkward silence had formed among the friends on the floor.
"Alpha Adrian wants to see you." Solomon said, his face a grim expression. I turned back towards everyone that was still sitting down, eyes finding Jack's and Katie's. They looked at us with concern, and then all of a sudden Jack nodded his head slightly, as if to say 'everything is going to be okay.'
"Okay, let me just get my things." I said, turning away to walk back to the circle.
"No. Alpha Adrian wants to see you immediately." Solomon said sternly. His voice made the silence among my friends even more deafening. I glanced at Catalina, who gave me a reassuring but urging look. Solomon made his voice a bit quieter. "If you could come with us now, that would be very helpful."
"Um yeah, sure." I said slowly, walking off back into the forest towards the hotel, heart pounding dangerously in my chest.

Adrian's P.O.V
"My decision is final. Bring her to me. Now!"
I had been hiding away in my quarters for too long. My wolf and I were going crazy by the minute, and nothing I did helped soothe the aching pain I had for Ailani.
"As you wish, brother." Solomon said before leaving my room with Catalina once again.
I sighed exhaustingly as I walked back into my bathroom, splashing cold water on my face. It was about to happen. I was about to meet her. But I didn't know what to do, I had been so caught up with the aim of getting her alone with me, that I had completely forgotten about what I was going to do after that.
"Come on Adrian, get a hold of yourself." I groaned in the mirror. The stubble on my face was beginning to look scruffy and unkempt. I was beginning to look more like my dad when he was on his deathbed. She wasn't going to find me attractive at all.
I looked at my phone as it buzzed, palms sweating as I saw my brothers message: "We're on our way. Be ready. Don't fuck this up."

Ailani's P.O.V
"He knows that you're his mate."
Solomon only started talking as soon as we entered the elevator. I tried to initiate a conversation on the way here, but felt as though I would get aired, so I left it.
"But you said that he'll only know once his –."
"Forget what I said," he snapped. "Somehow he knows, and he wants to see you as soon as possible."
"What is he doing to do?" I asked, all of a sudden feeling very scared.
Solomon stared at me, an amused look on his face. "Prepare for the worst." He said, laughing.
"Don't listen to him, Ailani. Adrian just wants to meet you personally, he won't hurt you, I promise." Catalina rubbed my arm for comfort, reassuring me as we stepped out of the elevator and walked along the corridor.
"What do I do when he finds out I'm human?" I asked, growing more anxious by the second.
"He won't mark you yet. He's only just met you, don't be stupid. My brother isn't that irrational."
I breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay, well that's good."
We approached a door with no number on it. "Ailani, everything is going to be fine," Catalina said. "Just try and be calm."
I took what she said in, I really did. But when they left me standing outside the Alpha's room, I couldn't help but breathe in the intoxicating smell coming from behind his door. Immediately my body began to feel light, and my legs started shaking uneasily.
I didn't have to knock on the door. Within a split second the doorknob twisted, and a large, attractive Alpha glared into my eyes. I didn't follow the advice of taking the deep breaths, he was too close to me for that. Instead, I allowed him to pull me into his room, shut the door behind him, and hold me close as if I had been lost and he had only just found me.
