Still Fighting

Adrian's P.O.V

"You want that Ailani wolf protected don't you? That's why you've put Christopher in their group."

Marcus, Samson and I were sitting in my office. We were supposed to be discussing the Mating Call, but somehow the conversation quickly shifted to the girl.

I sighed, feeling ultimately defeated. "I don't know what it is, there's something alluring about her, she's making me do things I wouldn't ever do before. Sometimes my wolf goes crazy and starts whining whenever I'm near her, and other times it stays silent. I want Christopher to look after that whole group, she just happens to be in that one."

"And what if you happen to find your mate during the Mating Call? What then?" Samson said to me, raising an eyebrow at my erratic behaviour.

I snapped. "What if she is my mate?"

Samson was taken aback by my response. His head lowered slightly when I raised my voice. Marcus had his mouth open ajar, his eyes looked confused and amused at the same time.

"You couldn't possibly believe that Alpha," Samson argued. "You would've found out by now, the bond between an Alpha and his Luna is one of the biggest bonds there is."

I sighed again, clenching my jaw tightly in frustration. "There's just something about her."

"Alpha, don't be fooled by your attraction to her. Your real mate is out there somewhere, and if she finds you and you're with this, this... girl, then she will be shattered. And you will be shattered too."

There was a long pause in the room. I was staring blankly at the white wall in front of me, trying to think of any possible reason as to why I hadn't smelt her scent yet.

"Marcus, what do you think?" I asked. He had been silent throughout mine and Samson's conversation.

"Errm," he began. "I agree with Samson."

Samson's shoulders relaxed, knowing he had Marcus on his side. My shoulders tensed.

"But I also believe that sometimes feelings matter, and they mean something. If you have a compelling feeling about this girl, that you can't shake off, then maybe you should act on it?" Marcus was speaking as if he was asking a question, not too sure whether or not he was talking sense. "And Alpha," he continued. "Trust that whatever you choose to do, my service is always available to you."

I smiled slightly, my wolf sending a tingling sensation down my spine as I thought of the girl in my arms, imagined me breathing in her scent and realising she is my mate.

"Thank you Marcus," I said, slightly bowing my head towards him in gratitude and thankfulness.

I knew what I had to do. And my wolf purred at the thought of it.

Ailani's P.O.V

"Get down!" Christopher hissed at the group, shoving Andre, who was next to him, onto his knees.

We had approached a kind of garden situated at the back of the hotel. From what I could see, it was pretty huge, with long paths meandering around the plants that surrounded it.

"This garden is bigger than you expect," Christopher explained. "We have a greenhouse located on the left hand side about a 15 minute walking distance. To the right side of us we have a storage shed, the size of a local supermarket. And if you were to walk forward for a few minutes, you will reach the entrance of our Rosemary Centre; a maze full of roses. There is only one entrance and one exit to that maze, so once you go in, you must find your way out."

"Fucking hell," Jack said. "This isn't a garden mate, it's a fucking jungle."

"Are we splitting up again?" I asked, my voice minimised to a whisper.

Christopher nodded his head, "If we stay together the likelihood is that we die at the same time. If we split up, then at least our team will be likely to have survivors."

"Say 'dibs' if you don't want to go in the maze!" Maddie said, quickly shouting 'dibs.'

"Dibs."

"Dibs."

"I don't care where I go."

"Dibs."

"Dibs on not going into the greenhouse."

"Dibs."

"Dib-."

"You'll go where I tell you to go." Christopher stated, shutting everyone up. He nodded in the direction of the greenhouse. "Andre, Carlos, Maddie, you go to the greenhouse."

"Don't need to tell me twice," Maddie said, already walking off.

"Lionel, Gisela, Amanda, you head over to the storage shed. And the rest, we're going to the maze."
