Chapter 11

Sorry it took a while for me to update, turns out I got a bit busy :) I tried to write a bit of a longer chapter this time to make up for it. ~

Amy was woken by a hand gently slapping her on the chest. Karma had always been a bit of a bed hog and no coma was ever going to change that. She was on her back, her left arm was laying across Amy, the rest of her was laying diagonally across the whole right side of the bed and most of the left. Amy had barely enough room to roll over but she wouldn't have had it any other way.

Quietly, Amy slipped out of bed and tiptoed to the kitchen. She was making bacon and eggs when Karma hobbled out of the bedroom.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Amy chimed.

"Morning," Karma grunted, rubbing sleep from her eyes.

"Bacon?" Amy asked, shoving some in her mouth.

"Yes please," Karma said, sitting at the counter.

Amy placed a plate down in front of Karma and stood across the counter to eat her own breakfast.

"What's the plan for today?" Amy asked. When Karma just looked at her, Amy continued.

"Well, I have to start my classes tomorrow, I've missed so much already," Amy explained, "so is there anything in particular you want to do? Anywhere I can take you?"

Karma, who had a mouthful of food, just shrugged in response. When she finally finished chewing, she answered Amy's question.

"Where do we normally go?" Karma asked.

"Well, we used to meet every Thursday for lunch at the cafe down the street," Amy suggested.

"Today's not a Thursday," Karma joked. Amy smiled at her.

"I'm sure we can make an exception," Amy said.

"Can we just go for a walk or something?" Karma asked. Amy laughed.

"Karms, you can't exactly walk," Amy said, pointing to the crouches that were leaning against the kitchen counter.

"Well, drive then?" Karma said in defeat, "I want to see the town, to get outside for a bit."

"That sounds like a good idea," Amy said, clearing away their plates.

"Really?" Karma wasn't sure what response she had expected from Amy, but that wasn't it.

"Yeah," Amy said, giggling.

"Ok, I'll go get changed," Karma said, retreating to her bedroom.

Amy smiled as she watched her best friend disappear down the hallway. Just seeing Karma happy, made Amy happy.

"You're not dressed yet!" Karma exclaimed as she made her way back to the kitchen half an hour later.

"I was just-" Amy started but she couldn't finished her sentence. The moment she saw Karma, she lost all train of thought.

Karma was wearing a simple, flowery sundress and she had her hair pulled back in a messy bun. She looked so much like Karma from high school, Amy was taken aback.

"You're staring," Karma said, blushing.

"Sorry," Amy said, shaking her head and averting her eyes, "it's just, you just-"

"What?" Karma urged gently.

"You haven't worn a dress like that in a very long time," Amy said.

"Oh, I can go change?" Karma said, sounding slightly uncomfortable.

"No, no! You look beautiful," Amy smiled, making Karma blush again.
