The place was packed. I was being squished and squeezed in places I'd rather not mention. Every part of me felt violated. Me! The girl who's been in mosh pits bigger than this, is being completely thrown around by teenage girls with One Direction faces plastered onto their shirts! God, Liah was SO lucky I loved her. I finally pushed myself into the somewhat tamer portion of the crowded coffee shop. Liah popped out from the crowd, breathless.
"I didn't think I knew those types of words at ten!" she exclaimed. I felt bad for her. She hated crowds. But as she said before we walked in, 'Anything to see One Direction.'
"Ten? You're lucky. I got called a bitch by an eight-year-old!" I said rubbing my temples. This place had more screams than an eighties horror movie.
We waited in the line for what seemed like hours. But even with basically being mugged, Liah's face was still brighter and more excited than I had ever seen her. She was practically buzzing by the time we got within the vacinity of the table. When she spotted Niall's face through a group of jumping girls, she almost died.
"Oh my sweet Mother of God. It's them," she said. Her face suddenly like a deer in headlights.
"Yes. Isn't that the point in which we came?" She rolled her eyes at me and we took a step closer to the table. We were next and Liah was about to pass out.
"Liah?" I asked.
"What?" she said, barely heard by anyone but me.
"Breathe."
She let out a giant breath and calmed herself. After a second, she started to smile. Good, I thought. She's calm enough not to dive at them at first sight.
"You good?"
"Yeah." She nodded.
"Great. Cause we're next."
We stepped up to the table with all five boys looking directly at her. I could tell that made her so happy. I guess this had been the reason I had come. Just to see Liah's face light up like that, made it all worth it. One of them - Liam I'm guessing. Somehow with Liah's constant fact throwing, I still was confused by the faces - smiled up at Liah.
"So love, you want all of us to sign the picture?" he asked. She smiled.
"Yeah. That'd be awesome." He signed it and wrote a little thing on there. It tok a little while until he passed it onto the next boy.
I sighed with frustration. I loved Liah but come on. Hurry up? Without thinking, I hopped onto the table and took a seat.
"What about you, Red? Want a picture?" an Irish voice said behind me. I turned around to find that I had sat right infront of Niall. The only one I knew for sure because Liah loved him.
"Listen Lucky Charms, I'm just here for her," I stated, pointing to Liah. Niall looked at Liah and gave a small smile before adding a heart to his signature. Liah slyly smiled back.
I turned back around, not leaving my seat. The one with the suspenders and red and white striped shirt laughed at me. I faced him.
"What's so funny, Waldo?"
"Not a fan?" he guessed. Liah chuckled beside me.
"Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!" I said pointing my finger at him.
"Well maybe I can change your mind," the curly haired one said, winking. Winking? Seriously?
"Come on Harry. Don't be so peverted," Liam said smacking his shoulder.
"Player never leaves the game," I mumbled under my breath. The darker haired one sat on the end, still signing and laughing quietly to himself. He handed the completely signed photo to Liah.
"Here ya go. And stay for the quick set we're doing," he smiled.
"You guys are singing? I didn't know that," Liah asked grinning.
"Well, it's an extra thing for the VIPs," Waldo said. He looked at me. "You should come."
Liah shrugged her shoulders.
"We don't have VIP passes," she said.
"Here," Niall said digging under the table. He came up with two tickets and eagerly handed them to Liah. "Can't wait to see you." Liah blushed and we were ushered to keep the line moving. The boys waving us goodbye. The Harry guy waving a little to long at me.
I had to admitt. The little concert was a lot better. Definately less crowded. A little stage had been set up in the coffee shop and it was.. nice. We even had chairs front row to sit down. I wasn't all that excited, but agian, I kept reminding myself, it's for Liah. The boys filed onto the stage and adjusted their equipment slightly.
The girls errupted as they came out. Niall looked up and saw Liah in the front row. He raised his hand up and waved. As he did though, he lost his grip on the equipment and it dropped on his hand. He yelled out in pain as his hand was wedged in ther tight. Liah moved to the egde of her seat and covered her mouth with her hands as the boys went over to help him.
They managed to pull his hand out from under rather quickly, but it did not look good when he raised it up. He frantically told them how he could no longer play guitar. Niall went backstage to fix his hand and the rest were stuck onstage. They all exchanged glances and then Waldo came up to the mic.
"Uhh. It seems Nial can't play guitar and our band is still back at the hotel. Can anyone play?"
Liah looked at me with an evil smirk. What was she thinking. I mean, I played guitar but- No! She wouldn't! Holy shi-
"Alex can play!" she said taking my wrist and throwing it into the air.
"Are you crazy?" I whispered at her. "What the hell are you-"
"How good is she?" Waldo inturrupted.
"Really good." Liah was already pushing me onto the stage.
"Brilliant!" he said as I stepped onto the stage. He held out his hand to me. I took it and he shook it.
"Louis," he stated.
"Alex," I mumbled back.
"I've been told," he laughed. "So you know the songs? You know, not being a fan and all."
"It's not like they're that complicated in the first place," I said grabbing the guitar that had sat on a stand.
I quickly did a small riff of One Thing and the crowd sent a cheer through the room. Louis held his hands up in surrender. Niall came back onstage with his hand wrapped and sat on his stool. I took the open stool next to Harry and he gave a not-so-discreat smirk.
"Don't try anything and I won't skip your solo," I whispered as the miced the guitar.
"No promises," he said wiggling his eyebrows.
Oh bloody hell, save me...
