When Louis shifted next to me in bed, I could tell that it was early. Two, maybe three in the morning. I tried to pull him back to bed when I remembered. It had been a week since he told me they were leaving. Their flight left this morning. He looked back at me and crawled back in for a minute, cupping my face in his hand.
"Let me come with you to the airport," I whispered, my voice still waking up.
"You have school," he said shaking his head. Even in the early morning, I rolled my eyes.
"Like that's stopped me before." He smiled.
"Then I'd like that."
I pulled aside the covers and quickly got dressed. Louis drove my car to the airport, holding my hand tighter than usual across the gearshift. I didn't mind, considering I was doing the same thing. We pulled up in the parking lot and I helped him unpack his bags from the trunk. We made our way through the empty terminal. When we saw Liah and the boys, I gave a smile and took a seat next to Zayn. I looked over at Liah, who was sitting on Niall's lap, smiling but her eyes said differently.
We all made small talk and though all of us were genuinely excited about the tour, you couldn't deny the sadness that hung on everyone. Obviously Liah and I didn't want to loose our boyfriends and some of our best friends for a few months, but the boys didn't want to leave their home, their friends, their family.
It took all I had not to start sobbing right then and there when they announced boarding. I turned to Zayn and gave him a big hug. He hung onto me before I pulled away to hug the others. Liam. Harry. Niall. I wasn't a lovey-dovey kind of person, but I hugged all of them tightly before coming to Louis.
He smiled at me weakly before throwing his arms around me in a death grip, but in all honesty, I was holding onto him tighter. I buried my face in his neck and finally broke down. Louis stroked my hair and I heard him crying as well. With all the tears, it was hard to realize that I WAS happy for them. But now, with his blue eyes about to drownd, I wanted nothing more than for him to stay here with me. But I couldn't be that selfish, or at least I didn't think I could be until he crashed his lips to mine.
Those lips that fit perfectly with mine. Those lips that were always stretched across into a brilliant smile. Those lips that, for the next couple of months, would be miles away from me.
So in a sobbing desire, I kissed him back with as much force and tederness as I possibly could, wanting nothing more than for him to stay. He slid his hands down my back and and I pulled on his scarf to bring him closer. I felt like no matter how close I got, he was constantly being dragged away.
When they called for a second time, I pulled away from Louis, who wasn't letting go of my hips. He had to go. I knew that. I smiled through the tears and wiped away his.
"I'll miss you, Lou," I whispered.
"I'll miss you too, Alex," he said before lowering his voice. "I love you." He said it so quietly, I almost didn't catch it. But I did and I genuinely grinned.
"I love you too."
He kissed my nose and I adjusted his scarf.
"Knock 'em dead," I said, shakily.
He smiled and nodded before turning to board. My heart felt as though it was in my stomach and I let out a shaky breath. I balled up the cuffs of my sweatshirt in my hands and wrapped my arms around myself, and watched as the boy who I loved - and who loved me back - disappeared behind the doors. When he did, I grabbed Liah and sobbed into her shoulder. She held me as I completely drenched her sweatshirt. I let out a sob that was almost a scream. My chest hurt so bad I wanted to scream.
God, I was getting sappy.......
