Amos stayed with Fireball and Malvina. The dragons just made themselves a comfortable spot on the floor with some straw, but Amos pulled out his wand, twirled it once and in place of the straw was a bed with a nice soft mattress, a pillow and some sheets. It looked so comfortable to Fireball as he examined the new creation that he suggested to Amos that maybe a bed for him might be nice as well. Amos smiled and with a twirl of his wand created a smaller bed, perfect for his little dragon friend to curl up in. Fireball hopped up into his new bed and pulled up the sheets, looking very pleased. Amos looked over to Malvina. She smiled but said she was quite happy with her straw bed.

Fireball slept soundly, but Amos, worrying about the prince, lay awake for most of the night. In the early hours of morning he decided to get up and go for a walk. The sun was just starting to break the horizon and offered enough light for Amos to walk. It was a quiet morning, but Amos felt something drawing him toward the beach. As he was meandering through the trees, he could hear voices – wizard voices – not dragons.

Quietly moving closer, Amos could see a large dragon lying down in the sand. He looked dead. Beside the dragon were three wizards. Amos quickly realized the wizards were kidnapping another dragon.

Hoping to catch the wizards off guard, Amos fired two spells. He knocked the wand out of one wizard's hand and sent another wizard tumbling backward. The third wizard responded quickly. Amos blocked his spell and returned fire. The other wizard recovered his wand and the two wizards attacked Amos. Spells flew in both directions. One of the wizards was almost Amos's equal but the other one was quickly knocked back into a boulder, unconscious.

From another part of the woods a spell leapt out and arced toward Amos. He spun out of the way, but the first wizard rapidly fired several spells. Surprisingly to Amos, they all missed him. It gave him just enough time to fire off a spell at the wizard who was hiding in the trees. As the wizard toppled out of the woods dead, Amos briefly let down his guard. Suddenly the ivy creeping up behind him latched around his wrists and ankles. He realized just a little too late that the first wizard didn't miss him. He had actually cast a spell on the ivy to attack him. The ivy tightened around his wrists and he could no longer hold onto his wand. As it slipped from his fingers, Amos looked up to see the wizard smiling at him. His wand slowly fell to the ground as the wizard raised his. Not taking his eyes off the wizard, Amos heard his only hope hit the ground. The wizard mumbled some words and his wand lit up. Amos could not block the spell, and could not move out of his way, so he just closed his eyes in wait.

'Phisst!' Amos heard a noise but felt nothing. He opened his eyes, and as he did the ivy that had restrained him began to shrivel back into nothing. He looked for the wizard who had fired the spell, but nobody was there.

"I thought you could use a hand," Fireball said flying up beside him. "I woke up and you were gone, so I went looking and here I am."
