Elyse, although still in pain, rallied everybody and tried to concentrate on what still had to be done. She first had Fausto gather up the dropped bones and then place them beside the burnt wizards' remains. Then she gathered up some brush and deposited it over around the bones. Fireball torched the brush, setting it alight. Then everyone retreated back through the hole in the barrier.
"I'm hoping the other wizards will find their friend's remains as well as the dragon bones. If they think that both their friend and Dronin were burned up, then they will have no reason to come after us."
"Great plan." Said Fireball. "But if they have come before and kidnapped dragons to torture, why wouldn't they come back again - and soon?"
The dragons were confident the wizards would come back looking for a new dragon, but they didn't expect it to happen right away. The discussion about the dangers of these wizards led to the agreement that it was time they talked to the elder dragons. Fireball was sure the wizards would not see the invisible hole and he knew it would eventually reseal itself, but Drake strategically moved a boulder to block the opening as best as he could.
Exhausted, they made their way up the beach. The dragons split up to head back to their homes. Drake and Fausto, feeling almost back to normal, assisted Dronin to the water's edge. They waited as Endrik and Elyse slowly moved towards them. They were still very sore and moving sluggishly.
Approaching Drake and Fausto, Elyse said they were okay to get Dronin home. They planned to get a good, long sleep and meet the next day near noon. The group wanted to discuss what had happened and decide the best way to inform their respective elders.
Fireball and his close friends flew back to their caves. The magical mortar used to build the walls surrounding their community provided some comfort to the little dragon, because it hid them from the wizards. Fireball did not feel truly safe though. He wanted to live in peace, but he was not sure how or if he could protect his family and friends from wizards, once and for all.
