They ate dinner and then Alexander and Amos led the others on a tour of the castle. The prince had many pictures of his family, but Fireball saw nobody else around. The rooms were full of ancient paintings and elaborate old furniture. As they entered a large room, Fireball was immediately at ease with the low, calming music wafting through the chamber. Scanning the room, the little dragon fixated on a massive shiny steel structure in the corner where the music was coming from.
"It's an organ." Said Amos. "It's very old, but the prince keeps it cleaned up and always looking like new. This organ produces some incredible music and it is the best room to be in when you really need to relax and think. The World Wizarding Council used to meet here frequently, but now the prince no longer feels it is safe. He can protect himself, but he is not confident he could protect everyone. I think that since the day Alex and Selena had their little boy he has dedicated himself to ridding the world of the deadliest, evil wizards. Sorry, I got a little sidetracked. Let me show you to your room."
Amos led Fireball and Ashneel upstairs, where he showed them to their sleeping quarters. He was quick to tell Fireball that his room had a fireplace and he was sure the dragon could light it. Amos left the travellers, suggesting they had a long trip and likely needed a good night's sleep.
Fireball lit the fireplace in his room and sat a few minutes before laying on his bed and drifting off to sleep. He hoped his mother and his friends were safe. The next day he would be home to see them, hopefully with a plan to rid them of that evil wizard and his followers.
Fireball wondered where Dronin, Elyse and Endrik were this night. He hoped they, too, were safe and wondered if he would ever see them again. So many thoughts raced through his mind, but they were not enough to keep him awake. Fireball dozed off into a deep sleep. His long flight caught up with him and he slept soundly through the night.
Tap, tap. Fireball awoke to a light knock on his bedroom door. Amos called from the other side of the door explaining there was a large breakfast downstairs awaiting them before their long trek back home. Fireball stretched his little frame as he awoke, then rolled to his right side and fell out of his bed. Plunk! Picking himself up, the dragon was glad nobody saw that. Back home he didn't sleep on an elegant four post bed raised several feet above the ground. His bed at home was very comfortable, but it was on the ground and there was never a chance of falling out of it.
Once downstairs Fireball Amos, Ashneel and the prince in the oversized dining hall. He was sure an army of dragons and wizards could comfortably sit and feast here, but only one of the many tables had food on it and the place settings were just for the four of them.
