Endrik shook his head no and then just dropped his head down. Elyse pulled harder on the wizard, stretching him more and inducing more pain.

"We couldn't help her, Fireball," said Elyse. "We got here too late. But I did manage to grab the wizard who killed her. Endrik and Dronin played with him for a while, but I grabbed him to hold him for you and then Dronin flew off to search you out."

Elyse released a frightened and in pain wizard. The wizard pleaded for mercy. Fireball, with tears still streaming down his face, stared at the wizard. He was still pleading but Fireball did not understand what he was saying. One glance back at Kaida was enough. Fireball blew a flame at the wizard. Even Elyse was pushed back by the heat. The wizard was gone. Just a charred circle on the ground was left.

Fireball went over to hold Kaida. He finally knew he loved her and was ready to spend his life with her, but she was gone. Fireball became very angry. Elyse tried to calm him down, but he just handed her Kaida's body and flew off. Endrik tried to follow, but he couldn't keep up.

An enraged Fireball flew quickly throughout his community. There were still many wizards engaging his friends. Some were on dragons and some were on the ground. Fireball showed no mercy.

Every enemy Fireball saw, he sent a flame that could not be defended. The dragons carrying the wizards were burned up as well, except for a couple who managed to miss the main intensity of his fire. The dragons that survived were all badly injured.

Finally Fireball came upon several wizards who were battling one. They had surrounded their prey. Fireball was sure it must be Amos and as he got a little closer, he confirmed his suspicion. The little dragon was very upset but he knew he did not want to hurt his friend, Amos. Trying to think, he paused a moment. In that brief moment, Drake showed up. He saw the pain and anger in Fireballs eyes. Far from 100%, Drake suggested he fly in and grab Amos, then continue flying in the other direction. If Fireball blasted the wizards as Drake reached the outer perimeter, he could destroy the wizards and at least injure any enemy dragon there. Drake only hoped his battered body could shield Amos and him from Fireball's blast.

As Drake prepared himself to execute his plan, Fireball couldn't help but think of Kaida's lifeless body. His desire to kill these wizards made him abandon all reasoning.

When Drake nodded he was ready, Fireball motioned him to go. Not thinking about the intensity nor the destruction of a full blast of his flame, the little dragon inhaled deeply. Drake flew at Amos but had to correct his path a few times as his damaged wings kept pushing him off to his right. The crooked path the dragon flew at least helped him to avoid some of the spells cast at him, though purely accidental. As Drake grabbed Amos and continued flying, Fireball unleashed his devastating blast. He blew a flame so intense it engulfed everything in front of him. Fires shot up all over the area, but quickly the fire let up and all that was left was smoke and a few charred remains.
