The prince walked over to Marcello and stared at him. Smiling, he reached down to retrieve the wand. Instead of picking up the wand, he was zapped by it and left frozen in a bent over position. Now two wands lay on the floor while their helpless owners remained frozen in place.

"Not bad." said Alexander. "I should have been wise not to pick up your wand, but unfortunately being more powerful does not always mean smarter."

"Alex." Marcello responded. "You are neither smarter nor more powerful. I will have my trunk, my extra powers and you will be dead. You see the trunk is right there and I can still open it with my wand. Then all the power it has to offer, will be mine at last."

Marcello's wand began to stir. Fireball saw it immediately, but he was helpless. Amos yelled at the prince to do something. Alexander, as he so often did, turned to his friends and smiled.

"Marcello?" the prince called out calmly. "You will never own the trunk, nor the energy it possesses, but I will give you the trunk since you so desire it. If for only a second, I hope you see everything it has to offer, that you will never get any of."

The prince's wand rose quickly into the air and pointed at Marcello's wand. The evil wizards wand flew across the room and it too became half embedded in the invisible barrier. The prince's wand then spun around to aim at the trunk, bringing it closer to the two wizards. It stopped, floating in mid air, right in front of them. The wand then flew over to Marcello and tapped his left arm.

"There you are Marcello. I have delivered the trunk to you. Go ahead. Open it, if you dare. Your left hand is free."

Confidently, Marcello reached out to release the clasp and open the trunk. The prince watched intently as did his two friends but from a distance.

As the trunk clasp sprung open, Marcello pushed the lid upward. He glanced over at Alex, smiling as though triumphant. He then looked back at the trunk, hoping to feel its energy released on him as he continued to raise the lid.
