Over an hour passed, before the water stirred. They watched in anticipation. Everyone expected Elyse and Endrik, but they were really hoping Dronin would be strong enough to join them. Now very confused, the dragons stared at the water as two figures splashed through it toward them. Standing in front of them was Alaric, the elder dragon and Ashneel, the old wizard.
"Where are Elyse, Endrik and Dronin?" asked Fireball. "They were supposed to meet us this morning."
"I'm afraid they are gone." Said Alaric. "The sea dragon community saw Dronin's injuries. For a long time many of them knew something was wrong, but Dronin's kidnapping was the final straw. It was the proof many needed. Every few years a dragon went missing and the community usually explained it away as a dragon moving on, because they didn't know for sure. With Dronin's return we now have concrete evidence and the council had to take action. They decided to find a new home. Because you brave souls helped rescue him, the council wanted to inform you. I offered to bring the news as I am too old to travel and I have decided to live out my years here."
Waving his wand to cast a spell so the dragons could understand him, Ashneel spoke to the dejected dragons. "You have time, but I think it is best you talk to your elder council and leave as well. Those wizards didn't just kidnap dragons. They tortured them. They tested spells and potions. Dragons can resist spells with their thick skin. Some have a higher resistance than others. Dragons also have a very high tolerance against potions. The wizards are trying to figure out how dragons do this. They want to replicate this armour for their own bodies and produce elixirs to mimic the dragons' natural immunity. Inevitably they want to become invincible. These wizards believe they can do it. The leader controlling this group of wizards has only impure intentions. He is as evil as they come. Only a more powerful wizard could stop him and that wizard lives very far from here."
"Can you take me to him?" asked Fireball. "We don't want our family or friends kidnapped and tortured."
