A week later
Cookie
I stood on the balcony of my presidential suite and stared at the cars, sky and buildings. I thought about life, my relationship and me.

I realized that I wasn't really the independent lady I aspired to be. I was living with Meek in the house he paid bills, driving his cars and using his money. Even though I got my own money from the club it wasn't really mines now that I've thought of it.

The money was coming from Meek. Everything I had today was from Meek. I shook my head, ashamed of myself. I was about to be 25 and still haven't accomplish my dreams.

Meek and I would be a year next month but here I was pregnant with his child. We weren't even a year yet and I got pregnant with his baby. Maybe my father was right about me.

I wanted for my kids to be able to look up at their mommy as a hard working woman who had her own. But now I think of it I didn't have my own. Not my own money, not my own car, not even my own house or living space.

I sighed and rubbed my stomach. It was never too late to go back to school but a schedule like that would be hectic considering I had kids now. Not one, not two but soon three.

My heart ached for Jomei, not growing up with a mother. Meek and I were forever tied now since I was having his child so meaning Jomei would be in my life either way. I felt like I was obligated to step up as his mother.

My phone has been going off like crazy ever since I left three days ago. I took the kids a bath, read to Nana making her fall asleep, I fed Jomei and he soon fell asleep. Meek was in the living room staring off like he's been doing since Nicole's death.

"I'm going to stop by Jasmines house real quick. The kids are upstairs asleep."

I had a packed bag at Jasmines house, I collected it and drove to a hotel far away from home.

Life wasn't looking up for me at all. It was never looking up for me. I sighed thinking about how drastically my life changed in a year.

My phone began to ring making me come out of my thoughts. It was Kim FaceTiming me. I answered quickly knowing who would pop up.

"Mommy!" Nana yelled showing me all of her teeth. I admired my daughter and smiled.

"Hi baby!"

"Mommy aunty Kim took me out and got my hair done! She brought me some new shoes too! They match the babies, he got some stuff too." She said smiling with her face all in the camera.

"Oh that's good baby tell aunty Kim I'll pay her back-"

"Nicki don't try it." I heard Kim hell in the background. I chuckled.

"Mommy when are you coming back? I miss you and daddy has been really mean." I frowned.

"He's been mean? What do you mean baby?"

"He doesn't play with me anymore! When I asked him to he always lies and says later. And he yells at the baby whenever he keeps crying and he doesn't know why. He doesn't even know how to make breakfast! He makes me eat cereal or chips every morning and he gives it to me late." I shook my head. My babies needed me.

"Oh and mommy we don't have anymore food. Can you please please come back." Naelean begged I sighed. I planned on going back in two days. Meek has been disrespecting me lately and it's time for him to get a taste of his own medicine. This was just phase one. I just began.

"Baby where's Jomei?" I asked changing the topic on the fiver year old.

"He's right next to me." She scooted over and held the phone up showing her and Jomei. He had his fist in his mouth. He looked at the phone and started smiling taking his fist out. He clapped and had spit coming out his mouth as he spoke his baby language.
