One week later

"Nana go get Yah's bottle for me on the kitchen table please." I asked cradling Caia as she whined. I sighed, she wasn't use to me yet. I was a stranger holding to her.

"Caia why are you so grumpy." Cookie groaned walking into the kitchen and taking her right out of my arms. Caia gave Cookie a long stare before she quieted down.

"We'll never know when something is actually wrong you, you cry baby." I watched as she spoke to Caia as if she understood. Caia blowed a spit bubble then laughed.

"You see that's when me and you stop being friends. Here go back to dada." Cookie tried giving her to me but Caia held to her shirt tightly as she frowned at me.

"Nah actually I have a lot to do today. I'm about to head out." I said rubbing being my neck.

"Oh really? What are you doing today?"

"Things."

"Like?" I gave Cookie a look. Why was she all in my business.

"Things that concern me and just me."

"Mmm. Well the day you decided to put your little dick in me and a baby was the day your things became mines. Now what things are you doing today Robert." I hated when she call me by her first name considering coincidentally her father and I share the same name.

"It's not little and I have to go handle something with Omelly." She stared at the ground for a second then looked up at me frowning.

"No. No. No I don't want you handling anything with Omelly, Rihmeek. No more I don't need any drama right now there's enough already. No more. The things you and Omelly handle is the same reason you were locked up and missed a YEAR of your kids lives-"

"I was locked up on false charges, they didn't find anything on me Onika and you know that."

"They didn't find anything on you at that moment! But you know you 'handle' those drugs you know you've gotten your hands on them. Imagine if they were actually ON YOU! You wouldn't have gotten off so easy." She said as she poked my chest I grabbed her arms and stared in her eyes.

"I just need to handle one last thing Onika."

"Then you're out for good?" I twisted my lip. I haven't really given serious thought about leaving the game. She sighed and snatched her hands away from mines.

"I don't understand why you're even still in this shit. You have all the money you can dream of, beautiful home and a family who loves you. Every mans fucking wish." She said with a puzzled look.

"I've been a target way too long Meek. Two years ago I was fine with it because nothing much was going on but then the situation with Damien, Martha, your sister all became too much. I was shot at with my daughter and friend at a fast food place. I'm basically not safe anywhere! You're a target and now all of us are." She said looking at me with a disgusted expression.

"Even if I were to get out Cookie I'm still in. I've been committed to this shit since I was a young broke nigga just tryna make it. Once you're in you're in there is not outs. Imma always be a target Onika and I made sure you knew that from day one. People out on these streets want my spot."
