Christmas Special Chapter

THIRD PERSON'S POV

It was that time of the year. Everyone was going crazy during this time of year, holiday fever was spread all around the world. Brooke and Jenna were one of those people who were obsessed with Christmas. If it was up to them, Christmas would be every day. In their households, the Christmas preparation starts as soon as the Halloween is over. Even tho Brooke wasn't that much of a fan of Halloween, Jenna was a huge fan. She was obsessed with scary things, and sometimes she would scare the heck out of Brooke just for fun. But let's focus on the current holiday, shall we? Today was Christmas Eve and Brooke was all over the place. The tree was already decorated, presents were under the tree, waiting for it to be opened on Christmas morning. I believe that every family has their tradition for Christmas, as so does Brooke's. All of their families were having together a Christmas party. This year it was Brooke and Alex's turn to host the party. Let's just say it in a nice way that Brooke was freaking out because she thought that everything had to be perfect. Brooke was in charge of cooking while Alex was in charge that everything else was perfect. Alex being a good fiance that he is, would step in to help Brooke prepare as many meals as she could think of. She was, of course, overworking herself with that, without even noticing it. Right as she was finishing desserts, someone ringed at the door. Brooke quickly took off her apron, running towards the door. She opened the door, revealing her parents. '' Mom! Dad! You came early! '' she hugged them, moving aside so they could come inside.  '' Oh we just wanted to see if you need any extra help with preparations. '' Brooke's dad joined Alex in the living room while Brooke and her mother made their way to the kitchen. They both chatted while finishing up on the last touches before the rest of the family came. When Brooke saw that Niall brought Maura, Greg, Denise and Theo with him she couldn't help it but squeeze them all in a big hug as she hasn't seen them in a while. When everyone came, Brooke and Jenna set up the table, inviting the rest of them at the table. Everyone was sat down at the table and they all chatted as they were eating. Everything seemed so perfect. Christmas songs were playing in the background and everything was just as Brooke wanted. She silently squeezed Alex's hand under the table, thanking him for helping her. Dad jokes were unavoidable and she even laughed at some of them, just how silly they sounded. After a meal, everyone helped clean the table. Niall thought of a great idea, to have a Christmas sing-along. Brooke took a guitar that was only collecting dust in their bedroom, handling it to Niall. The first song that he started playing was All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey since we all knew that song. Few songs later, it was finally time for the secret Santa. The elders didn't want to participate so it was only just us five. First one was for Noah and it was from Brooke. His lips spread into a grin when he opened his gift and saw a Jack Skellington plush. '' Okay whoever got him this, I'm jealous. I want that. '' Jenna pouted and all of them chuckled. Brooke shyly raised her arm as in the sign that she's the one who got him that. '' When I pulled out your name, at first I was like fuck what am I gonna give to him? Then I remembered how one of many things you two have in common is how much you love Nightmare Before Christmas so I got you a little Jack Skellington plush toy. '' Noah gave a quick hug to Brooke before they moved on onto the next gift. The next one was for Alex. He was very excited to open his gift just like the rest of them were. As soon as he opened his gift, he gasped. There was a box with the watch inside of it. It was one of those expensive watches. '' This is such an amazing gift, thank you to whoever got me this. '' Noah stood up proudly and bowed. All of them laughed at Noah's behaviour. Alex stood up, giving Noah a pat on the back. '' Thanks bro, it means a lot. '' Next was Jenna. She opened her gift probably faster than boys. She screamed happily when she saw her gift. She pulled out a hat just like characters from her favourite tv show Peaky Blinders. '' Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. '' Jenna jumped on Niall hugging him, making the boy almost fall off of his chair. '' How in the world did you know it was from me? '' The boy seemed so confused as if how did she found out that it was from him. Well technically it wasn't from his but from Louis, but she doesn't need to know that, right? '' Because none of these losers would actually remember that I wanted this, not even you, so I know Louis helped you with this gift. '' she grinned proudly. Niall shook his head at the girl. She sat back onto her seat, leaving Brooke and Nial the only ones without opened gift. So they agreed they would open them at the same time. Both of their gifts were small but meaningful. Niall being the Irishmen he is, someone gifted him a bottle of Guinness beer. When Niall saw his gift, he started laughing. They were all curious of what he's gotten so when he showed his gift they all smirked and laughed. '' Props to whoever thought of this. '' He shook his head still laughing. '' Couldn't resist it. '' Alex admitted, also chuckling. They did their handshake while Brooke was still opening her gift. A huge smile spread all over her face when she saw a new journal and planner for next year. That's all she wanted and she couldn't be happier. She took a glance at Jenna, knowing it was her who got her that gift. She pulled Jenna in an embrace, hugging her tightly. '' Thank you so so much, it means so much to me. '' Jenna kissed Brooke's cheek, telling her it was no big deal. The elders enjoyed watching their kids opening gifts, it was as if they were 5 years old again. Time goes so fast and next Christmas two of these children will be married. Who would've thought? Niall and Brooke chatted and made jokes over his gift and their parents couldn't help themselves but remember how they always rooted for two of them to end up together. Maybe one day their wish will come true, but until then, they'll be just happy seeing them as friends.
