Chapter 30

Brooke's POV

Finally, it was time for the first dance. The song they chose was My Best Friend by Tim McGraw. They stood in the middle of the dance floor, slowly starting to sway as the songs start playing. Noah was holding Jenna so gently while looking at her with so much love in his eyes. The song fitted them so much, it couldn't be more perfect. The line in the chorus that goes '' Life with you makes perfect sense, you're my best friend '' was the part where he lifted her up and they were spinning. After that, it was time for Niall and me to join them on the dance floor. Niall took my arm, pulling me closer to him. I can't lie and say that being this close to him bothered me when it didn't. He put one arm around my waist while holding my hand with his other. He whispered to me that I was looking nice, but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of actually giving him my attention if it wasn't needed. He spun me around and then pulled me back to him. I was surprised by that because for as long as I've known him, he wasn't much of a dancer. '' When did you learn how to dance? For all these years I've known you, you kept telling me that you don't know how to dance. '' he chuckled before placing both of his hands on the small of my back, while I put my arms around his neck. '' I may have taken some dancing classes, just not to make a complete fool of myself at this wedding, God knows it'd somehow end up on the internet. '' I nodded my head, understanding him. We danced for a minute more or so, before the song ended. Everyone clapped, including me and Niall. All four of us went back to our seats, taking a small break to actually eat something after so many hours. After we've eaten, Niall said that he has a surprise for the bride and groom. We were all curious, but when he got onto the stage, neither one of us expected for him to start singing the song all four of us loved.

Noah and Jenna immediately got up and started dancing together, so did most of the couples. What I didn't expect is to Alex approaching me and asking me to dance with him. Funnily enough, I made Alex listen to this song with me for the first time and he loved it. Getting up, I took Alex's hand and we made our way to the dance floor, his arms around my waist and my arms wrapped around his neck just like I danced with Niall a while ago. But honestly, this song more described mine and Alex's relationship than it did whatever I had with Niall. Who would've thought that I'd be dancing with my ex on my best friend's wedding while the boy I've loved for a while now is singing to all of us? I certainly didn't, life has its funny ways. The song ended, we all clapped to Niall. '' Thank you all very much. I think it's time we embarrass a little the newlyweds, what do you say? '' Jenna and Noah's faces were mortified because all six of us will hold speeches. Niall went first. '' Well as most you know I've known Jenna and Noah for about 4 years now. Thankfully to the lovely maid of honour over there who introduced me and the rest of the boys to Jenna and Noah. Noah and I were like brothers from the first moment we met, while even tho Jenna won't admit it, I know that she loved me too from the first time. I mean it's not like she hasn't fangirled over One Direction just like the most of the women. Brooke was always a witness to Jenna and mine's bickers'' Everyone laughed. '' But I've always considered her like a sister I've never had. She was there to keep me grounded when my head would get in the clouds and I'm very thankful for her. As for my mate over there Noah, he's a brother to me just as much as my boys in One Direction are. I'm also very thankful for you and your connection in Hollywood '' we all laughed again. '' To Jenna and Noah! '' we all raised our glasses and took a sip. He climbed down the stage, and now it was my turn. I climbed up the stage and took the microphone in my hands. '' Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a good time just like I am. My name is Brooke and I'm the maid of honour and also a best friend for almost a decade now with a lovely bride. I've known Jenna since middle school so you can say we go a long way back. Which means I've witnessed most if not every heartbreak she's been through before she met Noah. Those who came before Noah are nothing in comparison to Noah, since the day one he's been nothing but patient with Jenna and trust me it takes a lot of patience around Jenna especially if she's moody. '' I laughed while Jenna rolled her eyes at me. '' Noah I've known you since the moment Jenna introduced you to me as her boyfriend and let me be honest right now - my first thought about you wasn't very nice. I thought oh no here we go again. I never should've judged you before getting to know you. Jenna means a lot to both of us and that's how I know you won't do anything to harm her in any way. I'm very thankful that faith had decided to bring you two together and now we can all watch you two grow even more. '' I stopped for a second to wipe tears that were trying to be sneaky '' Should I tell some embarrassing stories about the bride and the groom now? Cause I've got plenty of those. '' The looks on their face was priceless. I've got the most embarrassing stories about them that I'm pretty sure I only know. A couple of embarrassing stories later, I decided I've done enough. The boys held their speeches and it was emotional. Heading to the bathroom, I had no idea what will happen when I come back. About three minutes later, I was back when I saw all five of boys on the stage talking about something. I brushed it off, thinking they're probably doing some kind of prank or something like that. But what I least expected is for them to start playing Clouds. All three of us were in shock, I mean they haven't played together since 2015. The fact that they still sounded the same was admiring, bringing me back into the days when I was fangirling about them 24/7. I know Jenna felt the same cause she had the same look on the face whenever we would listen to them back in the days. Both Jenna and I stood up and started singing along to them. Next song they played was No Control, and we lost our minds. Niall's solo at the beginning was almost as killing as Louis' part. My heart was full and I could've cried right now if I wasn't friends with them for 4 years now. After singing those two songs I made them sing a song with me, and they had no choice but to say yes. They allowed me to choose a song and I decided on Infinity. Of course, I just sang the chorus with them, not wanting to ruin their solos which were perfect. 

And that's how pretty much the rest of the night went by. We ate cake, we danced, got drunk, and when the sun started rising, we decided to go back to our hotels, to try and get some sleep.
