Chapter 13

Niall's POV

It's been a few months since the wedding happened. It was September now, two days 'til my 26th birthday. Brooke and I haven't spoken a word since that day. If I had only kept my mouth shut she would still be here by my side, even if it was only as a friend. No matter how much it was killing me on the inside, I had a career that I needed to focus on. And that meant PR relationships that my management had set up. At first, it was only a few dates, and I was fine with that, cause one date couldn't harm anyone. Well, that was until they had come across this new rising actress called Tammy Collins. There is only one way I could describe her; She was a pain in the ass for me. She was constantly whining about how I'm not giving her enough attention even when I would give her my full attention. She was one of those girls that think that everything is about them. Jenna and Noah had met her, and Jenna wasn't having her whiny attitude so when she finally had enough she yelled so loud at her and it made Tammy cry. Honestly, I almost started laughing but I knew it was rude and unnecessary, no matter how much it was funny. My management decided for me '' to be with Tammy until they find a better girl for me. '' Jenna keeps me up with what's going on with Brooke. She's finally getting all she ever wanted; a good marriage, a perfect husband and she actually found a job that she likes. She was finally accomplishing her dreams and I was proud of her. When my birthday finally came, my friends decided to throw me a party. No matter how much I wasn't in the mood for the party, I couldn't disappoint my friends. So I got ready for the party and prepared myself to get totally wasted, to forget about her for at least one night. Everybody kept asking me what I wanted for a birthday and one thing that I wanted, they couldn't get me. Everybody was at the party, the boys, my brother, my cousins, all of my friends. Everyone but her. Pretending all night that I'm having the best time of my life while all I really wanna do is drink to forget about her was so fucking exhausting and I was slowly getting tired of all this shit when I suddenly heard her soft voice, somewhere close to me. I shrug off the thing, thinking I was only hallucinating. But then I heard Jenna's voice mentioning Brooke. It made me turn around and oh how I wish I haven't turned around, because there she was standing in front of her best friend in the beautiful short dress, with a drink in her hand giggling at something Jenna just said. Quickly, I got up trying to escape for her not to see me. But Louis had other plans. He quickly stopped me on my way out, clearly confused why I'm leaving my own party first. '' Why in the world are you running like you've seen a ghost. '' he chuckled, and I wasn't having it. '' Jenna brought Brooke here. She clearly has no idea that this is my birthday party and I want it to stay that way. I don't want to ruin her night. Oh and please remind me to kill Jenna when this thing's over. Thank you. '' I once again tried to leave, and I did it successfully. I got inside of my car and drove home.

Jenna's POV (surprise!!!)

I couldn't help myself but bring Brooke as my date to Niall's party. She, of course, had no idea it was his birthday party, she just thought that this was some of my old friend's party that she doesn't know. She tried convincing me for her to meet him so that she could wish him a happy birthday but I kept lying that he was busy with some girls. She didn't notice Niall or the boys yet, and I was thankful for that. I knew that she and Alex were fighting more and more each day, so I had to take her out of that house even if it was only for a night. While I was talking to Brooke, I was searching for Niall with my eyes. I was very aware of his only birthday wish so it was win-win for both of them. My eyes landed on Louis and he wasn't very happy. Excusing myself, I approached Louis. '' Why are you looking so confused? '' he sighed '' Niall left a few minutes ago. After he heard and saw you with Brooke. Oh, he also said that he'll kill you because of that. But I wouldn't take him seriously. '' I scoffed. '' As if I ever took him seriously. But why the fuck did he ran away, when everybody knows that she's his birthday wish. Top that gift, Tomlinson. '' he rolled his eyes but chuckled anyway. He looked at Brooke, who was at the bar talking to Tammy. '' Oh-oh. She's talking to Tammy. '' Louis whispered to me and I instantly started walking fast towards them so that she couldn't spill the beans to Brooke. When I finally approached them, I quickly interrupted them, not wanting for stupid Tammy to speak another word. '' Hi, how are ya? So nice to see you again but unfortunately me and Brooke are leaving because our ride is here. Bye now. '' I grabbed Brooke's hand, pulling her towards where Louis is standing, completely amused. '' Hi Brooke, nice to see you again. You two ladies ready to go? '' Brooke was so confused but just nodded her head, just wanting to go home. We all walked to Louis' car, me taking a passenger seat, and Brooke sitting in the back. Louis was even nice enough to let me play some music and me being the silly person I am, I played One Direction songs, making Brooke chuckle at my song choices, but Louis was groaning, clearly not amused. '' What's the matter Tommo? Don't like your songs? '' I laughed while he shook his head at me. '' No worries Jen, still love my band with my whole heart. '' Brooke awwed, and I was just waiting for her to begin with her questions. 

After a few minutes of driving, he finally arrived in front of Brooke's house. The lights were still on, which meant that Alex was still awake, clearly waiting for her to come home. Don't get me wrong, I still like Alex, and he and Brooke were still together no matter how much they argue sometimes about their works. But I hated getting upset calls from my best friend just because she and Alex had another fight about some stupid thing. That was the reason I took her to Niall's birthday party. So that he and she could make things alright again so that she could talk to both of us. We were both very important in her life, well at least he was until he confessed his feelings and she decided to end their friendship for good. Brooke sighed, saying goodbye to Louis and me before exiting the car. She waved us one last time before entering her house. Louis started driving again towards my house and silence filled the car. 

'' I feel bad for her. She had no clue why you pulled her away from Tammy, where did I come from, who's party that was..she'll start feeling like she's going crazy. '' he chuckled, deciding to break the silence between us. It made me chuckle too. '' Oh she's used to it, she's known me for almost 10 years now. If she hasn't gone crazy by now, then she's fine. '' he just shook his head, focusing on driving. '' She and Alex have been having these arguments where later in she would call me, so upset and almost in tears where hearing her voice like that would break my heart. That's why I brought her with me to Niall's party. So that she could take a little break from that arguments. '' Louis took off one of his hands off the wheel, squeezing mine. '' You and Niall are her best friends. Of course, you only want best for her and it's completely understandable for you to want them having fun again, but it's unfortunately not up to us, but up to them. Niall literally almost shit his pants when he saw her with you. By his reaction, he probably thought he was hallucinating. We can try our best to bring them back together, but it's still up to them if they want to be friends or maybe even something more. '' I scoffed, hating that he was right. '' I hate when other people have right. '' he chuckled, pulling in front of my house. '' Thank you for driving us home, and for listening to me. '' giving him a small kiss on the cheek, I exited the car running into my house because of the cold air. Or was it the fact that I kissed Louis Tomlinson's cheek?
