BROOKE'S POV

It was around 12 in the afternoon when I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I picked up and saw it was my lawyer that was calling.
" Hi, Lisa, what's up? " I asked sleepily. Lisa chuckled. " Good morning to you too, Brooke. Sleep well? " She asked me. " You could say that I was up until 2 am. " Lisa laughed. " Well sorry for waking you up, but I have some pretty good news. " " Oooh you got my attention. " I sat up on my bed, rubbing my eyes. " Your divorce papers are ready. You can come and pick them up whenever you want. " I gasped. " Are you serious? Already? " Lisa laughed. "Couldn't be more serious. " I squealed happily. " I'll come by tomorrow. I'm in Vegas currently but I have a flight back to London later today. "
We chatted for a little more before she had to go. Jenna woke up while Lisa and I were talking and was already in the bathroom doing her morning routine. I didn't know how to feel about the papers being ready. My mind wondered to what Alex will think about me coming back with the papers. Anxiety started taking over my thoughts. I was overthinking and I knew that. But yet I still got lost in my thoughts until Jenna snapped me out of it. " Where did you wander off? " I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. " Lisa called me. She said she has my papers ready. " Jenna's mouth turned into 'o' shape. " And how are you feeling about it? " She sat down next to me. " I'm very anxious about it. I really don't know how to feel about it. " Jenna smiled softly at me before she pulled me in the hug. " You and Alex will always be friends no matter what happens between you two. Both of you promised that when you started dating, remember? " I smiled at the memory. " Yeah, I almost forgot about that. "

Later that day we were on our way to the airport. Noah offered to drive us, but we decided it'll be better if we get us a taxi. It didn't cost us much since our hotel wasn't that far from the airport. A few hours later, we were back in London. I asked my dad to come and pick us up since it was pretty late and we didn't wanna go by taxi. When we got out of the plane, I quickly ran into my father's arms. " Hi dad "  I hugged him tightly. " Hi, sugar. Hello to you too Jenna. How was your flight, girls? " " Hello Mr Steve, a flight was good even tho we both slept through most of it. " I chuckled at Jenna's comment. " Silly me, you girls must be exhausted from the long flight, I'll drive you home. Where should I drop you off, sugar? " before I could answer him, Jenna beat me to it. " My place would be just fine. " My dad nodded before we all made our way to where dad's car was parked. He quickly put our suitcases in the trunk before us two settled in the car. About an hour later, my dad pulled out in front of Jenna's house helping us with our suitcases. "Here you go girls, call me in the morning when you wake up. Your mom wants to make lunch for your late birthday party. I'll come and pick you up. " I groaned. " Fine but you don't need to come and pick us up, we have Jenna's car we'll come alone. " My dad nodded before kissing me on the forehead. " Goodnight girls, I'll see you tomorrow. " He left the house, driving back to my childhood home. " God I can't wait to throw myself onto your bed. " Jenna laughed at my comment. " Same with me. Let's just go. " We both went upstairs, changing into PJs before both of us collapsed onto the bed, falling into a deep slumber. The morning after I woke up around 10 am. My brain didn't let me sleep longer than that so I got up, making my way to the kitchen to make us some coffee. Jenna was still in her deep slumber and I didn't want to wake her up, even tho we should probably start getting ready for lunch with my family. After drinking my coffee, I decided to go visit Lisa to see those papers. Quickly, I got ready, grabbing Jenna's car keys before I left her house and drove over to Lisa's office. Of course, I sent a text message to her, letting her know I'll be coming to her office. A few seconds later, I was inside of her office, hugging Lisa. " How are you girl? " Lisa asked me. " I've been better. How are you? " We both sat down. " I'm very good. But let's talk business, shall we? " I nodded my head. " Yeah. '' she took out the papers, giving them to me to read them. I went through it a couple of times, wanting to make sure I read it properly. It took me a couple of minutes until I was completely sure it's everything I agree with. Lisa knew me that well that she knew that I wanted no harm done. '' Thank you so much, Lisa, I'm completely fine with what you wrote. '' she smiled. '' It's my job and I know you very well now already so I knew what you'll probably want and what not. '' I smiled sympathetically at her before thanking her once again and deciding it's time for me to head back to Jenna's place. Driving back to Jenna's house was full of anxiety. Not even music could relax me and distract me which only showed how much anxious I was. A couple of minutes later, I pulled in front of Jenna's house.  I grabbed my stuff from the car before exiting it and walking inside of her house. As soon as I walked inside, Jenna came out of nowhere. '' WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOUNG LADY? '' '' Jesus Christ, you scared the shit out of me. '' she rolled her eyes. '' Don't be dramatic. '' '' Says the one who calls herself a 'drama queen' '' I chuckled. Jenna just crossed her arms. '' So? Where you've been? '' I sighed. '' Well if you must really know, I was at Lisa's office to go get the papers. '' I went to the living room, sitting down on the couch. '' But I don't wanna talk about it. Are you ready for us to go over to my parents' house? '' I asked, trying to change a subject. '' Yeah, let's go. '' She gave up trying to fight with me since we're both very stubborn and neither one of us would give up. Quickly, I changed into something more suitable for lunch with my parents before we headed out. An hour later, we arrived in front of my parents' house. My mom was quick to notice us so she was already waiting for us at the door. We got out of the car, my mom hugging us both. It was not a secret that Jenna was her favourite out of all my friends. She even loved her more than Niall, which only resulted in my mom having to cook him his favourite meal to make up to him for not being her favourite. I chuckled at the memory, before finding my dad and giving him a hug. I sat down next to him, while my mom and Jenna gossiped in the kitchen. '' Your sister is also coming for the lunch. '' and just as he said that someone knocked on the door before entering inside. '' Hello my lovely family, we're here!! '' my lovely sister Maya yelled. '' Still not deaf. '' I commented before I got up and gave her a hug. '' Oh Brooke it's always a pleasure to see you, little sister. '' She chuckled, hugging me back. My mom and Jenna walked out of the kitchen, hugging my sister while I hugged her boyfriend (hopefully soon to be fiance) Josh. '' Hi Josh, still haven't popped the question I see. '' I teased him. He laughed nervously before he leaned in and whispered me something shocking. '' I'm asking your parents and you for permission tonight. '' I slapped his arm excitedly.  '' I can't wait to see my parents' reaction when you asked them finally. '' I laughed. He patted my head making me roll my eyes as he said hi to my parents. Jenna walked over to my side. '' You finished gossiping with my mom? '' I chuckled. She rolled her eyes at me. '' We were not gossiping, only telling facts. And you know how much I like talking to your mom. She's honestly the best. '' '' As if I haven't already known that. '' we laughed before going up the stairs in my old room where we used to hang out all the time.A couple of hours have passed before my mom called us down because lunch was ready. We all sat down at the table, eating while also chatting. When we were finished with lunch, my mom brought out a dessert - chocolate muffins and I was obsessed with them. When all of the meals were finally over, Jenna, Maya and I decided to wash the dishes, leaving poor Josh alone with my parents. But it wasn't that bad because he'll finally ask them for permission. He already knows that he has my permission, heck if I could, I'd marry them myself but unfortunately, I couldn't. He was so good for her and she was also very good for him. They all quit their annoying habits to keep the other one happy. That's how the relationship should work. Not like mine and Alex's. We used to be so good for each other but everything changed after the day we said ' I do. ' No one ever thought that mine and Alex's marriage wouldn't work. Heck, it even came as a surprise to me. I still didn't wanna tell my parents about getting a divorce because I know they'd be devastated for us not working out. Nobody knows what future holds for them no matter how much we want to know and actually manage how our future will look, we can't.  If I believe in something, then is that faith has plans for each and every one of us.
