Chapter 22

Brooke's POV

I had to keep smiling so she wouldn't notice the sudden change in my behaviour as soon as she mentioned his name. " Well he must be a lucky guy. How long have you two been together? " I was trying so hard to remain myself and not to burst into tears and run away from this studio. " About 6 months now. " " So basically you two are new version of Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift? Cause media still hasn't caught up to you guys. It must've been really hard to keep it a secret. " Although my heart was broken, I was really happy for Niall. He deserved someone who will give him all their love just like he can. " Well first few months it was but we kinda just got used to it. " " Would he mind joining us for this interview, if any of you don't mind? " After a couple of stares, he joined us. My heart couldn't handle how amazing he looked. " Welcome Mr. Horan, it's nice of you to join us. " Pretending not knowing him in front of Hailee was the worst part. Thankfully, I was still wearing my wedding ring since Alex didn't want me to give it back to him. " It's nice to be here. " His Irish accent still being as strong as always. " First of all congratulations on this new relationship with Miss Steinfeld. After a long time you're no longer single. How does it feel? " " It's a really good feeling, ya know? Just to know you have someone you can call whenever you want without them judging you. " The interview was soon done and I talked to Hailee after the interview for a couple of minutes before she had to talk to her manager. I was about to go and transfer this interview to my computer when Niall approached me. " Hello again Mr. Horan " I kept my professional expression. " Why are you acting as if we just met when we know eachother for 5/6 years now. " He rolled his eyes as I crossed my arms " Well I apologize but I don't want to pretend as if everything is just peachy when it isn't. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and transfer this interview onto my computer. " As I walked pass him, he grabbed my arm. " Stop doing that Brooke. Stop shutting me out of your life. " He was staring into my eyes and it all of the strength inside of me to pull my arm away from him. " Too bad I won't stop it. " I walked away from him.

Niall's POV

As she walked away, Hailee approached me. " I know it must've been hard for you to see her again. " Our relationship was somewhere between real and PR. There are definitely feelings there for both sides, but I'll never have feelings for any other woman like I have for Brooke. " It's whatever. Are we done now? " I asked, avoiding conversation about Brooke. " Yeah we can go. " I dropped Hailee at her house, before driving to my hotel. Seeing Brooke in New York was the last thing I expected. Thanks to Jenna, I was aware that Brooke was no longer in London,but she didn't tell me she was in New York. Out of all places, she's working for the magazine that Hailee had interview scheduled with. My mind was a mess, and I couldn't stop thinking of Brooke and the way she was so cold with me. I did that to us, it was my fault she doesn't want to have anything with me. Her and Alex are both most amazing people I've met in my life and to think I was a fucking asshole and told Brooke how I feel about her on their WEDDING DAY. Why does life have to be so complicated?

Brooke's POV

Jenna and Noah are coming today and they are bringing Thor with them, because Jenna and I quote said to Noah " If you don't let me keep the dog,I'm gonna give you for adoption. " It was hilarious, and I was so excited that I'll see my best friends after a while. I'm picking them up at the airport and then we're going somewhere out for food. I was currently waiting for them at the airport, in the parking lot. After a couple of minutes of waiting for them, they finally arrived. Jenna was having a huge grin on her face while holding Thor in her arms and poor Noah was carrying both of their luggages. I got out of the car and helped Noah put them in the trunk. I hugged him and then I hugged Jenna. " It's nice to finally see you in person after a while, the facetime camera does not make you look good. " Jenna chuckled, making me roll my eyes. " So nice to see you too. " Thor barked at us and I crunched down, picking him up in my arms. " Hello one of the many fury nephews. I'm Brooke, and you are so fluffy and adorable I might just steal you from your mom. " Jenna gasped " How dare you " I laughed as I gave her Thor back. " Please, Thor is literally sleeping between us. There's no way she would give up on him. I'm pretty sure she loves Thor more than me. " Noah commented. Jenna rolled her eyes at him " Well at least Thor doesn't snore unlike somebody. " " Before you two kill each other, get in the car so that we can go eat something. I'm starving. " We decided to go to Chick-fil-A and we ordered our usuals. After we finished our meals, I suggested we go to pet shop to buy something for Thor to have at my place, since I still don't have any pets, I don't have food,bed or toys. It was on me, because who wouldn't want to spoil puppies? Once we were done with shopping for Thor, Jenna and I unpacked everything we bought while Noah walked Thor around the building for a little while longer. " Why does your place always have to be fancy? Ugh I hate you. " I chuckled " Ah what can I say, the Libra in me jumped out. " She rolled her eyes. " I'm a Libra too bitch, you ain't special. " We were done with unpacking, so we sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. " Oh yeah you didn't tell me how did the big interview go? Who was this big celebrity? " Of course I avoided talking about the interview, I wasn't proud of myself of how I handled the situation, my behaviour was childish and immature. " Really? I thought I talked to you about it. " Jenna looked at me suspiciously. " Are you trying to hide something from me? Seriously after knowing you forever now, you still think you can hide something from me. " Sigh left my mouth as I run my hand through my hair. " The big interview was with Hailee Steinfeld or should I say Niall Horan's girlfriend. Do I need to say more? " A gasp left Jenna's mouth. " NO.WAY. I thought he would never date someone that basic. She's way too nice, that's why I hate her. And of course,tell me everything. And that's how I told her everything. From how Hailee was so nice and friendly to how I asked her if there's someone who inspires her songs, and cherry on top, Niall joining us for the interview. Of course I also told her how I acted when he confronted me after we were done with the interview.
" Oh God. Your life is so full of drama, Keeping up with the Kardashians is quacking. " " Wow the best comforting words ever. " " Well sorry you know I'm never good with this things. But honestly I think you two should meet up or something to clear the air. I'm done with playing a spy for you two. If you want to know what's going on in his life either Google it or face him. There's no third option. " " Why do you have to be always right. " I groaned. In times like this I really wish I had a pet I could snuggle. But I guess Jenna will have to do for now while she's here in NY.
