Rainy Days [Poetry]

Playground Monster

Hogging the slides
Is who we call the
Playground Monster.

Well, I didn't start it.
I most certainly would
Never dream of doing it,

Because Mother says that
It's rude to call people names
If they don't want us to do so-

But Andy does, and so does
A boy from the upper grade
(His name is Julian), and so
Does everyone else in here,

So, surely, there must be some
Truth to it (or at least a reason?)
If everyone else does the same.

And yet, something tells me that
The Playground Monster is normal
Too, because his smile is wide and
His eyes are a startling bright blue.

Maybe we're all Playground Monsters too?
