Earthlings

"so tonight,
i'm calling all astronauts
all the lonely people
that the world forgot
if you hear my voice,
come pick me up
are you out there?
'cause you're all I've got."

- astronaut, simple plan
-

she's the touch you crave at night
she's a silent hug, a shining light
she's the one that helps to fight
your demons with all her might

earthlings are too much for her
they drift about in a hemisphere
never stopping to think or feel
they speak poison and can kill
they never seem to stop and heal

so she watches from afar
she wishes she could help
but she was nothing but a star
destined to guide the heartfelt
to a place they could be,
a place where they could see

and when astronauts
float about at night, she smiles
and offers them a listening ear
a person to hear their thoughts

she knew she would never speak
that she'd never be able to seek
for treasures pass by and die
giving up, she ceases to survive

she'd spent years helping others
with no voice to raise troubles
and like all the other stars,
she starts to fade into nothing
after all, she'd already lost sight

besides, what would death do
to a lonely star without a might?

take care and have a lovely day ahead :) sorry for how repetitive everything is getting - i hope you liked this !! in case you don't understand, this poem is about a star that listens to the troubles of floating astronauts and providing them comfort. however, no matter how much she tries, she remains unable to speak, and eventually fades into nothing again :")
