ellie birdwhistle
ellie birdwhistle was a small weak child
frequently sick, a rarity in such a small town
doctors tried while the pastors prayed
yet, it seemed like a cure would never be foundshe was not strong, by any means
and her relatives couldn't help but feel doubt
in a world where everything is what it seems
a cure would be her only way outbut her parents kept on hoping, and hoping
they were tired of seeing their child so worn out
in a world where people were constantly recovering
they hoped that ellie, too, would find her own routeand, years later, that seemed to be the case
for ellie grew older, and made friends with determination
she didn't want her body and soul to go to waste
no, not to the hands of fearful imaginationand so she danced with flowers
happiness letting her stand tall
so perfectly imperfect despite the late hours
why, it seems that she doesn't need help at all!
