Rainy Days [Poetry]

Star

i am falling
my wings are fallen entities
that'd soar to reach the stars

but you're on earth
the greatest star of all
silently flickering but still
so beautiful. so pure.

and just like that
i find myself falling
heaven is nothing
when you're a masterpiece

but everything has boundaries
whether you like it or not
and it just so happens that
distances have its flaws

because no matter what i do
i can never seem to reach you
it's meaningless to float in space
when i know you're feeling blue

yet, as the days pass,
boundaries have never felt so far
we're connected in heart and soul - nothing more
but that will never be enough

and you look up sometimes
longing for someone new
but although i can feel your hurt
i know i will never be with you

so i'll be your guardian angel
even when times get tough
you may never realize it
but you are more than just a star

I was planning to save this for January, but here we are! This isn't the greatest piece, I'll admit, but poetry block is back and stronger than ever :")

Feel free to ask if anything in this poem doesn't make sense! It's meant to be about two people separated, one being able to see the other's pain yet remaining unable to do anything about it  ??? Sorry if that sounds stupid :( Have a wonderful day ahead and take care of yourself!

Also, I don't know if anyone would be interested in this, but would you like a list of songs that inspire writing  ??? I don't know - music definitely inspires me to write poetry and I thought it'd be cool if I shared some :>
