thank you for sunshine-y days
and for a reason to feel safe
thank you for being a light
when happiness is out of sight

you may not know it
but you are the reason i'm awake
i know all i seem to do is take
but i'd do anything for your sake

thank you for happy days
in and out of thoughts that stray
you've never failed to be there
and i am more grateful than i say

because your light is blinding
your smile brightens up rooms
it might be cliche, but i do care
if you have a burden, do share

it. don't go through it alone.
you've made my life bearable, so
I'll be there until I turn to stone

because you are sunshine,
the happiness to my lifeline,

the light i never thought I'd have.
