Zyre

"How's your foot?" Nyco asked as he came into the room.

"It's fine..." I said with a shrug, "I guess the worst of it was yesterday, or maybe I tricked myself into thinking it was worse than it really was."

He smiled at me, "Then why have you been in bed all day?"

"Because I had an excuse to be lazy."

He chuckled at that, "We can't have that. Here, come with me."

Nyco took a seat next to me before taking my arm and draping it over his shoulders, standing back up with me attached to him, and wrapping his arm around my waist to make sure I wouldn't fall over. Then, he led me out of the room carefully and guided me to the lounge.

"Oh, and about the other day," I started, "Thanks...for saying whatever it was to Brax. Apparently, he'd rather have voted to leave me there."

The brunette's face went pink and he cleared his throat, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Aw, C'mon," I cooed as he set me down on one of the couches, "You don't have to pretend to be the big, bad, stonecold guy you want everyone to think you are. And it's nice to know someone cares about me."

He ignored my comment, though, I did happen to notice that his blush did get a bit darker.

I opened my mouth to say something to Nyco, but just then, Jexa burst through the door, a man with bright, cherry red hair and ice blue eyes with a sullen expression on his face, and a small child with bright pink hair in his arms.

Nyco's eyes immediately widened at the sight of them, "Ace? What on Earth are you doing here? Where's everyone else -- are they with you?"

The man, who was apparently named Ace, shook his head as his eyes started shining with welled-up tears.

"Ace?" Nyco asked, "What happened?"

The brunette stalked over to him before leading the red-haired man over to the couch before having him sit a few feet away from me. Jexa followed after him, taking the small child from Ace, cradling him in her arms.

As soon as the child was taken out of his arms, Ace immediately curled in on himself, burying his head in his hands and shaking and breathing heavily.

"Ace--" Nyco started.

"Everyone -- Valria, Catlea, Jaro, Cyrox.....Arelle -- they-they're all dead...and I couldn't save any of them. I-I couldn't save her."
