Snuggling up on the sofa into George’s chest, I let out a silent sigh as the music for the credits at the end of the movie we’d spent the night watching began to play.

“I hate movies you pick,” George laughed, wrapping his arms around me as he softly kissed the top of my head. “They always end up having that really crappy music at the end that makes you feel like you’ve enjoyed the movie as it’s always bop bop music, but in actual fact, I’ve not enjoyed any of that movie as it’s always the same – boy meets girl, girl doesn’t like boy, boy falls for girl, boy spends 89 minutes chasing after the girl and then..”

“George, shut up,” I grinned, gently slapping his face with my hand so he’d stop his rant over rom-com movies that seemed to happen every single time that we managed to relax with a movie, which was on the odd occasion.

“You leave us in five hours to go to your hen weekend, leaving me stuck here in England with the boys and babysitting.”

“Hey, she’s your daughter too,” I said, closing my eyes.

“Have you realised that we’ve not spent a night away from each other since..” George paused. “Well, since all the drama last year.”

I opened my eyes and looked at him. “Not until now,” I smiled, quite shocked as to how he’d noticed that I hadn’t even thought about.

“How are you gonna survive two nights without me to hold onto you and keep you warm at night?” George joked.

I looked at him with a serious face. “It’s Ibiza. I’ll find some desperate guy somewhere,” I grinned as I slyly looked at him, waiting for his reaction.

“I was thinking about hiring a stripper tomorrow night,” George paused, also waiting for my reaction.

“Do it,” I smiled, laying back down with my head resting on his lap. “Good luck trying to score with a sixteen month old baby in the house who enjoys squawking at 2am.”

Dragging my suitcase through departures, I stayed in silence as George had hold of Katy. Elle and Chloe had already said their goodbyes to Josh and JJ, who were waiting back at the car, but George decided to see me off at the gate – or to make sure I went as JJ and Josh kept joking on the way to the airport. I suppose it was more difficult for me to say goodbye to George, unlike Elle and Chloe as the next time I’d be seeing George would be seconds before we finally get married in six days’ time. The walk from the departure lounge to the gate seemed to take forever as we were in an awkward, eerie silence, despite the hustle and bustle of the Heathrow terminal that was happening around us.

“Are you sure you’ve got everything?” George asked as we finally reached the gate.

I nodded. “If not, I’ll just buy new.”

“Nope, give her here,” Elle said, taking a sleepy Katy from George’s arms. “You two need to say goodbye to each other properly. You’re gonna be apart from six whole days. You need to hug and kiss and do whatever you wanna do, but keep it PG because don’t forget, we are in the middle of Heathrow airport.”

I laughed at Elle as she took Katy away to sit on the chairs beside the departure gate. As we were left in the middle of the terminal, I looked at George, not wanting to say anything at all. Passengers and staff rushed by us, dodging us as we stayed looking at each other in silence.

“I’m gonna miss you,” George smiled after a few moments of silence.

“I’m gonna miss..”

“Flight 1048 to Ibiza is now boarding from gate 9,” the tanoy announced, interrupting me.

Elle rushed back from the chairs, handing Katy back over to George. “Sorry, we gotta go,” Elle said, grabbing hold of my hand and dragging me towards the check-in desk beside the gate.

Without having chance to say anything else, I passed my passport and boarding pass over to the air hostess to be checked. Glancing back over my shoulder, I saw George slowly making his way to the exit of the main terminal.

“One second,” I said to the air hostess, and with that, I let go of my suitcase and made my way through the ocean of passengers that had surrounded me as quick as I could.

“George!”

Turning back to face me, George had a huge grin across his face as I ran towards him and Katy. “I’m gonna miss you both so much.”

“We’re gonna miss you more but just remember to have fun and relax,” George smiled before kissing me.

“You have fun too,” I grinned. “With your Robinsons’ fruit shoots and your crayons.”

“We’re gonna have a ball,” George laughed. “Daddy and Katy time.”

“Mummy and vodka time,” I joked.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”
