Nova POV
Ms.Joyce, Ms.Lorraine, Khalid and I had a great day today! Ms.Lorraine showed us around North Carolina. I must admit I went a little crazy with the spending, but what can I say? Sometimes I just like to splurge. And besides, Malik made us travel light. We 'needed' some things.
When we got home and got all of the bags separated, Khalid and I walked up to our room.
"Okay here's your clothes and shoes. Put your things away then go downstairs and eat, okay?"
"Okay thank you Auntie Nov. You're the best! I love you."
"No problem lil man. I love you too buddy." I giggled.
I grabbed three bags then I walked out of the room. I walked down the hall to Asia's room to see her, Desiree, and Laila sitting on her bed watching a movie and laughing with each other.
"Hi." I gently knocked on the door to get Asia's attention. "We just got back from the m-"
"The mall?! Mom better had got me something!" Laila said before getting up and running out the room.
Fucking brat. She's spoiled and ungrateful. Ms.Joyce actually did get her some things, but she'll probably complain that it's not enough or that it's not what she wanted. She had an opportunity to go though. Actually, I was the one who volunteered to stay at home with Katelynn, but they said they didn't want to go.
"We got food for everyone. Zaxby's and some Chinese place." I said looking at Desiree and trying to form a smile on my face. I'd like to sock her in the fucking mouth for the face she makin at me right now.
"Do I look hungry to you?"
"No. I just figured that I should tell you just in case you haven't ate yet."
Can't win with her. She would have been mad if I didn't say anything then she went down there and saw all the food.
"Cool." She said as she got up and walked out of the room.
"Asia I have a lil something for you and Katelynn!"
I said as I sat beside her and started taking everything out of the bags. I got her a pair of tennis shoes, some sandals, a bracelet, her favorite perfume, a purse, some maxi dresses, and some outfits. I also got Katelynn some outfits, shoes and hair accessories for those full curly locks on her head.
"Oh and look!" I said picking up three half sheets if paper. "I got you, Desiree and Laila Spa vouchers. Y'all can go spend a whole day at the spa whenever you want. I'll take care of the kids."
Asia didn't seem the least bit excited about any of it, so I let out a sigh. I put all the things back in the bags then put them to the side.
"What's going on? What did I do to upset you?"
"Kissing ass won't win those girls over. Won't win me over either."
Funny she should say that, because I'm not an ass kisser and never have been one. It's just that Ms.Lorraine and I went and got a massage earlier, and I thought maybe they'd want one too! It was really good and very needed. But yeah, I don't think any amount of money would get them to like me, and quite frankly, I don't give a fuck.
"I know." I laughed it off.
We sat there in an awkward silence for a few minutes until she spoke.
"Okay Nova, do you promise to be truthful with me?"
"Yeah of course I will be."
"Do you have feelings for Khali? Like are you in love with him?"
"No Asia." I answered instantly. No hesitation needed.
