Khali POV
Asia- Although I didn’t express it before you left, I just wanted to let you know that I do love you and I do care. Just be careful!! See you when you get home
Deeply exhaling, I reclined in the chair I was sitting in.
"I'm sick of this back and forth shit."
Instantly, I felt numerous sets of eyes on me, so I looked up from my phone to see all our workers looking at me oddly. Had I known they were ready to start the meeting, I wouldn't even be on my phone. I may as well text her back right quick.
Me- OK. You say you love me yet you rarely show it. I'm sick of fighting with you. Don't worry about me just make sure the kids are good.
She could take that so many ways, but it is what it is. I truly am tired of being at odds with her. One minute we cool, the next minute she's pissed the fuck off because I 'broke up with her.' No relationship is perfect, but I've always believed that if a couple has to constantly argue and be mad with each other, they may not need to be a couple. Yeah they say fight for what you want, but I'm doing enough fighting with this war shit as it is. She needs help.
Asia- SO DOES THAT MEAN YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE KHALI?!
Me- If I didn't I wouldn't even deal with you. Of course I love you Asia. I'll always have love for you but it seems like my love just isn't enough for you. It's always something. I'm begging you to better yourself.
I stood up and walked to the center of the room. I looked around a few times for Leek, but he was nowhere to be found. He was the one who told me not to go anywhere, but this nigga thought it'd be a brilliant idea for him to leave.
"Aye where i-"
The doors then opened and in walked Leek... along with Ty and a muthafucka that I didn't want to see.
"Really nigga?" I mugged the shit out of Leek as he came to stand beside me. "You coulda went out there and got yourself killed bruh. And why the fuck is this nigga here?"
"He was standing outside when I got back... because I called him." He mumbled those last four words quietly. "Khali, remember yesterday? Remember how you had to hold up a heavy ass water hose and aid us out of a bombed building? We could all be dead right now. Our kids could be fatherless like we were growing up. We are up against a nigga that has military type shit along with a muthafuckin' army. Get out yo muthafuckin' feelings nigga, we need all the help we can get."
I looked over at Tone to see that he had a sad expression on his face. Guess he expected me to accept him with open arms. Fuck him, if he ain't got much to bring to the table, we don't need his ass. Leek is right though. This shit we got going on is deeper than how I feel about Tone. Sometimes you just gotta put shit aside to get shit done. We got so much at stake, it ain't just about me. I'm so glad that Leek has two sides. He may be goofy as fuck and seem like he doesn't have a single brain cell sometimes, but when it's time to be real about shit he gets serious.
"Whatever." I turned to everybody else. "A'ight so me and Leek been discussing shit. All of you should have been there when we were almost blown the fuck up. Because of that and because we escaped through a back window, We figure SB thinks we're dead."
"So our plan is for all of us to lay low. The pr-"
"Lay low?" I questioned. "Nigga he tried to kill us all. This shit is too personal now. I don't want to lay low whi-"
"Khali we talked about this shit man. You just got onto me for going out to the damn gas station 'round the corner but you think I'm about to let you go out and get yourself noticed? We can't combat for a while. We supposed to be dead. They'll see our faces. That's why we nee-"
