Nova POV

I was standing in the bathroom trying to put my clothes on, but it wasn't working. The pants wouldn't even make it past the top of my knees. They must've shrunk.

"Mama's getting chunky, huh lil guy?" I gently rubbed my belly then I stepped out of the pants. "It's all worth it though love. I wouldn't care if I gained over a hundred pounds; You being okay is all that matters, son." I worry about my baby boy each and every day, but I'm hoping, wishing, and praying I'll be able to hold him in my arms.

I really have gained a lot of weight throughout this pregnancy. I lost some too... but that wasn't the point. I was all into the whole exercise and health thing, but I'm not going to be in any rush to lose the weight. Some women obsess about losing their baby weight when they should just focus on their bundle of joy.

I walked out the bathroom and over to my gym bag to pull out the floral maxi dress that Malik packed for me. It's black on top while the rest of it's a black, beige, and purple floral print. He didn't know what I'd want to wear, so he packed a literal variety. Jeans, sweats, a skirt, a jacket, a tank top, a long sleeved shirt,... etc. He even packed some overalls and I have no idea where he got them from or why he got them. They're kinda cute though.

I was pulling the dress over my head when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." I said as I smoothed the dress over my bump. It fits just right.

"Special delivery ma'am."

I looked up to see one of the female nurses walk in with yet another vase of flowers. This time they were yellow roses. Malik had already given me flowers almost everyday I was in here, and now this is the second vase of flowers I'm getting and I have no idea who they're from. They're beautiful though.

"This just arrived a few minutes ago by a lady." She smiled as she gave them to me.

"Did she happen to say who she was?" I asked as I reached for the small card in them. "Or did you see what she looked like?"

"She had on glasses, a hat, and her scarf was blocking the lower half of her face ma'am. She did, however, say that she was a relative. Your relatives live out of town?"

Oh. Dang it could have been an auntie or one of my cousins. That's strange how they didn't actually come in here to see me though. No, now I don't know who it may have been. Too much fucked up shit had been happening these days, they need to force people to fully show their faces in here. What if she would've done something like shot the place up? They wouldn't have knew who the hell she was because they couldn't see her face! That's a crazy scenario, but people have shot up Churches before, sadly, so I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem with shooting up a hospital.

This world becomes more violent and angry each and every day.

"Yeah they do. Out of town and out of state." Wish I was with them. Or just in the same state with them. I don't feel safe here anymore at all. "Thank you for bringing them in here."

"You're welcome. Let me know when your ride gets here honey."

"Will do." I flashed a fake smile at her.

She walked out the room so I put the flowers down then I sat on the bed and read the letter.

I pray that the rest of your pregnancy goes smooth, and I hope you and the baby are healthy. Be strong baby girl, I know you have it within yourself. I love you and hope to see you again some day, but not just yet.

Really? It's a very sweet note, but just like the other one, there aren't any clues as to who this is from. Well, the other one had Nova Luciette on it, but that's not enough to figure out who it is. I seriously do not believe my father has anything to do with this.
