Tommy POV

I got situated in Nova's and my room. As I was going through a bag, I noticed a lot of Kay Kay's clothes. Obviously this is Asia's bag. I must have taken it by accident.

"Hey N-"

She was just sitting on the sofa behind me, now I don't see her. I went in her bedroom and seen her laying Omar down. Her sleeves weren't all the way down anymore, so I could have sworn I saw a fresh mark on her right arm.

"Oh Tommy, I forgot to tell you. On Monday I'm going to enroll you into school. Tomorrow we are going to pick up the key to our new loft apartment. I'll just use my money to go to the store and get us a few starter things and some food."

Nova has been putting in major work when it comes to our new home. She already found a place that she thinks is really nice. Didn't know we would be moving in so quickly though. We don't have any furniture or anything yet. She said we would get air mattresses and Omar would use his bassinet until we did though.

"What the fuck! Nova, you said you would stop this shit." I tried focusing on what she was saying, but that bruise pissed me the fuck off.

She looked over at me oddly, then she followed my eyes to her arm.

"Oh! I was flat ironing my hair the other day and I mistakingly dropped it."

"Why is your hair curly now then?"

That isn't the only reason I don't believe her, but that is a big reason why. What girl will waste all that time if they aren't planning on leaving it that way for at least a few days?

Nova used to harm herself in several ways. Cutting was just the main way. She started harming herself probably a year or two before mom died. When I asked why, she wouldn't tell me why. That makes me believe that she was getting abused way before anyone figured it out.

"This little boy tends to pee on me a lot. Because of that, I had to wash my hair last night. I just used some dry shampoo today because of time."

I'm still not buying her story. We have way too much going on already, I don't want to end up losing her. I can't do this without her. She is the only family I have left really.

"Nova tell me the damn truth."

She seemed surprised by my tone, but I didn't care. She should have just told me the truth in the first place. Her health is serious.

"I did."

"No." I stepped closer. "You didn't."

"YES I DID!"

I grabbed her by the arm and took her into the living room area. I'm pretty sure she didn't want to wake up Omar. It's hard to get him to sleep sometimes.

"Why would you be so irresponsible? Nov, if I didn't even want you hurting yourself when we were younger, why the fuck would you think I'd be okay with it now? Stop being a selfish bitch. Your life is Omar's life. YOU NEED HELP!"

"YOU NEVER CARED WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER!" She tried to hit me but I grabbed both of her wrists and held them tight. "I'M A SELFISH BITCH?! NO, YOU ARE! ARE YOU FORGETTING ALL OF THE TIMES IN THE PAST WHEN I BEGGED YOU TO STAY BY MY SIDE? FOR EXAMPLE, THE NIGHT OF MOM'S FUNERAL. THAT WAS THE FIRST NIGHT THAT YOUR DAD PUT HIS FUCKING HANDS ON ME! YOU DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO BUSY RUNNING THE STREETS."

So I was right. I would ask her why he did that, but she wouldn't answer me. She would just yell at me. She is so fucking dramatic. What happened to her was awful, but it's over with now. She needs to get over it.
