Nova POV

Khalid and I were sitting out on the patio. He was playing some educational game on my laptop while I was simply sitting there watching him. Taylor was out here too, but Desiree hates me and wants to keep Taylor as far away from me as possible for whatever reason.

Watching Khalid play the game was fairly interesting. For Khalid to only be five, this boy is so smart. I'm not only saying that because he's my bestest bud in the whole wide world, I'm saying that because he really is very smart. He can be a bit of a couch potato, but that doesn't mean he doesn't also work on building his knowledge. His dad is a low key nerd, so maybe it rubbed off on him.

"Auntie Nov?"

"Yes sweetheart?"

He finished the level of the game he was playing, then he looked over at me.

"What's wrong?" He asked, probably referring to the look on my face. I've been experiencing serious pain. I think they're real contractions, but I was told that they're just those Braxton Hicks things.

"I'm just experiencing a lot of discomfort and pain." I told him, truthfully. "I think your cousin may be here sooner than everyone thinks."

"Oh." He smiled. "So, umm will umm... Uncle Leek come back when he's born?" His smile faded away and he looked down. "I miss him being around."

Just because he's young doesn't mean he's oblivious to what goes on around here. That's the misconception that some people have about kids. They notice plenty things.

I swear I feel so bad. I ruined Khalid's birthday party because I was being so selfish. Malik left a few days before his birthday. He still got the birthday party he wanted, and he still got plenty of presents and love, but it wasn't how it was suppose to be. Malik showed up late just to give him his birthday gift, and I could tell Khalid would have liked for him to have been there the whole time. I know Malik distanced himself because of me, but I wish we could have all came together to be one happy family for him on his big day. I think five is like one of those special birthdays. Even though he seemed to have a good day yesterday, and even though he seems perfectly fine today, I hope that I can make it up to him some kind of way.

"I really think so sweetie."

Even though that answer wasn't definite, his smile returned to his face and his dimple sunk into his cheek.

"Okay Auntie Nov. What will my cousin's name be?"

That's a really good question. I don't know why it's been so hard for me to decide, but it just is. At first I wanted to make him a Jr, but no. Malik is a good name and all, but I want him to have his own name. I also wants to make sure he has a name that will be suitable. I won't be naming him no Dequanevious or Quivonvious or Travontavion or nothing like that. He doesn't only need a little cute name for when he's young, he needs a name that will carry him through his whole life.

"I haven't chosen yet."

"Silly Nov." He giggled. "He has to have a name before he's born. Every one knows that. What names are you thinking of?"

I smiled at him then put my hand on my belly.

"Well, let's see. At first I was thinking Nathan or Nathaniel, then there's Tristan, Trenton, Gregory, Omar, Mekhi, G..."

"Stop it right there." He smiled and put his hand on mine. "You have to name him Omar. This is my baby cousin Marty-Mar!" We both laughed at that.

"Omar it is, but what made you pick that one?"

"Your smile got more bigger and your dimples showed when you said it. That's your favorite one of them all. Now it's not as extravagant as Khalid, but it'll do."
