"Auntie, I don't know how much longer I can stay here." I said while rubbing my neck where Cain had choked me the other night.

My neck was badly bruised and I couldn't go anywhere without putting any makeup over it.

"Don't let any man run you out of your home Kristoni. Where are you going to go if you leave here?"

"I don't know, any where but here. And I don't want to keep Charli away from her father, but Cain is pushing me to that point." I sighed.

I didn't want to move away from my aunt because we were all that one another had, but I could only take but so much from him.

"You do what's best for you and Charli. Remember that."

I nodded my head in response.

"Alright now, I need to get on my Wednesday morning prayer line. I'll pray for you and Charli, I love you and tell Charli to have a good day at school."

"Okay I will, love you too." I said before hanging up.

I continued to finish getting myself ready before calling on Charli.

"Charli do you have your bag packed?" I yelled out of my door.

"Yes mama," she said while dragging her bag into my room.

"No ma'am don't do that, pick your bag up off of that floor."

I bent down to help her strap her shoes up when I heard my phone vibrating on my bed.

"Look mommy Mr. Davey is calling. Can I answer it please?"

"Yes you may."

Dave has continued to call me on a daily basis and after my trip to New York, it solidified that we were exclusively seeing one another. We didn't have a title or anything but we knew how we felt about each other.

"Goodmorning Princess Charli," I heard his deep voice come through the screen.

"Goodmorning Mr. Davey, but I think I want to be a queen today," she said while putting her finger on her chin.

"Your momma is the Queen, so you have to be the Princess little one."

She sighed, " I guess, being a Princess is cuter anyway."
