"Charli stay right here next to me and don't move, you understand? Or Santa isn't going to visit you tonight." I said while looking down at her.

"Yes mommy," she said while grabbing onto my hand.

We were currently at baggage claim in JFK airport. I wasn't planning on spending Christmas in New York, but here we are. Charli kept asking if Dave was going to spend Christmas with us, but his schedule was too full for him to come down. So instead of him coming down, he flew us up.

I wanted to stay in DC in hopes of Charli actually getting the chance to see her real father for Christmas, but I've learned that I can only expect but so much from him at this point. And to me, that shit is sad as hell. But you can't make someone do something they don't want to. It just makes me upset that an innocent child has to be in the center of everything.

"Mommy can we get back on the plane now?"

"No sweets we're here now. We're not getting back on until it's time for us to go home."

For her first time flying she did better than expected, which surprised me.

My phone vibrated in my hand  & I look to see that Dave texted me to let me know that he was outside. Shortly after I saw our luggage, I grabbed it and made my way outside with Charli next to me dragging her Princess and the Frog suitcase along with her.

She saw Dave leaning against his car and she started running full speed towards him.

"Charli stop running," I scolded, but it didn't work.

"Daddy!" She screamed while running up to him and attacking his legs. He picked her up and threw her in the air before attacking her little faces with  a million kisses.

Even though I was still trying to get used to her calling another man her father, my heat fluttered at the sight.

"I know you want some of my lovin' too, come here," he said while motioning for me to come towards him.

I sheepishly smiled, before walking towards him & placing multiple soft kisses on his lips. " I missed you pookie."

He gave me an annoyed look, "Kris cut it out, you know I hate that name," he said as he placed Charli in the backseat with our luggage.

"And? I let you call me whatever you want to call me, so you'll be okay," I said while checking my appearance in my little pocket mirror. I closed my mirror and looked over and noticed Dave staring at me.

"You look good baby, you don't need to look in the mirror for nothing."

"Mhm, you telling me what I want to hear. I've been up since 4:30 this morning with her, so I know I look sleep deprived," I said while taking a sip from my Starbucks cup.

"Cut that shit out, you know you look beyond good mamas," he said while picking my hand up to kiss it.

"You said a bad word," Charli screeched out from the back seat.

"My fault Princess," he said while throwing his hands up in the air in defeat.

"Mhm, Santa's not going to bring you any presents. You're on the naughty list."

He chuckled in response, "I hope you've been a good girl, or you're going to have coal in your stocking."

"I know I've been a good girl, my mommy told me so," she said while sassing him.
