Chapter 14- Why Is This Happening?

Asa looked at me, and he froze. I forced a smile to come to my face. He smiled back, I saw Jensen glance between Asa an I. I looked at Jensen, who was holding Husk in his arms. Asa wheels over a little bed for Jensen to set Husk down, Husk was wagging his tail when he saw Asa. 

"Hi there buddy, been a while hasn't it?" Asa said petting Husk's head. 

"Wait, you two know each other?" Jensen asks. 

"Yes Jensen this is Asa... Asa this is Jensen." I say. Asa nods his head, JJ was standing there looking at Asa with a slight tilt of her head. 

"You look at her like my dad does." JJ says. We all looked at her quickly. 

"What sweetie?" Jensen asks. Bending down. 

"He looks at (y/n) like you do. With love." JJ says. I suck in a deep breath of air, looking at Asa, he looked at me then at Husk. 

"Well, I'll take him on back... What exactly happened?" 

"He stepped on a nail, we pulled it out but JJ wanted us to come have him checked out." I say pretty quickly trying to move the conversation back to Husk. 

"Yes, of course, if I see a problem I'll have one of my technicians come out and grab you." He wheels Husk off after I give him a kiss on the head.  

"Thank you Asa." He nods his head and pets Husk before he wheels him off, I looked at Jensen who was holding JJ in his arms. He was talking with her, not really paying attention to me. I walked over to a seat and sat down taking my phone out and texting my brother because I didn't know what else to do. 

Me: Misha! We had to take Husk to the vet because he stepped on a nail and JJ was worried, why did it completely space me that Asa went to school to become a vet and actor. He's the vet working on Husk, and Husk remembered him. 

Misha: Oh god, is Jensen there? Is he mad? What happened? Do I need to come down? I'll get dressed. 

Me: He's not angry, but it's so awkward, like JJ was like 'he looks at you like my daddy does, with love.' I'm so weirded out. 

"Excuse me?" I looked up, standing there was a lady with nice pink hair. I smiled at her. 

"Yes?" Husk pokes his head around the lady and I smiled and he ran over to me. 

"Dr. Butterfield said he's fine, you're lucky he was able to fill in for the normal vet, we don't normally have Butterfield here, he's more so acting." I nodded my head. 

"Thank you, how much?"

"He said of no charge, call it an old friend favor." She smiles and I walk off, JJ was looking at me and then saw Husk and ran over, we headed back to the car and back to the house. I decided to just sit outside for a bit. Running my hands through my hair, taking deep breaths, trying to figure out what to tell Jensen and how to handle this situation. 

"Hey." I turn and Jensen is walking out closing the door behind him. 

"Hey." 

"Danneel, said she couldn't take Husk when she picks up JJ, said there isn't enough room..." I nod my head and looked back at Sebastian who was laying down peacefully in the shade Daisy laying next to him. 

"That's fine I'll just ask Vicki if she can come by and feed them while we are gone." I say. 

"So, that Asa guy..." Jensen starts. 

"We dated in college, we broke up a few weeks after graduation and a few months before I came and worked with you guys." He nods his head and I don't say anymore. 

"He seems to still have feelings for you according to what JJ said about how he was looking at you." Jensen says. I glance over at him then look away. 

"The breakup wasn't mutual, I broke it off because we had different plans for what we wanted to do. He still texted me until Misha started posting photos of you and I on his Instagram. Can we please drop this? I don't love him anymore Jen." He nods his head. 

"Well I'm going to go help JJ pack so she's ready when Danneel comes to get her, she's bum about not seeing Husk for a while but she's okay because apparently Danneels boyfriends parents have horses." He says standing up walking away. I close my eyes and drop my head forward into my hands, taking deep breaths. I felt a nose nudge me, I looked up standing there was Sebastian, I smiled at him. 

"Hi buddy." I whisper. He nuzzles my hand as I pet him, tears start to seep from my eyes, and run down my cheek, I hope this doesn't mess with mine and Jensen's relationship, I am finally happy and I don't wanna lose him because of this little small problem. I stand up heading into the house, I walk down the hall heading to the guest room where most my things were, I looked at a leather coat that was laying on the bed. I walked over to it picking it up. I walked over to the mirror looking at myself in it. I smiled at myself in it, memories start to fill my thoughts of me and Asa. 

"Come on Asa!" I ran down the road to the lake that was a little ways from the college campus, so many kids went there but since it was 1 in the morning on a Monday, nobody was there, Asa was running behind me, I had the leather coat on, when we got the lake I started to undress. Asa was watching me the whole time I saw his chest rise and fall, I run into the lake only wearing a bra and underwear. I hear him laughing behind me. I turn and hes undressing to his boxers. 

"Asa! It's so nice." I say walking out a bit far, he follows me in and I smile at him. He walks over to me and puts his hands on my hips and rests his forehead against mine. 

"I love you (y/n)." He whispers. 

"I love you too Asa." I whisper back. 

"(Y/n)?" I turn and standing there is Jensen, I looked back at the mirror looking at myself. 

"Yes?" 

"Danneel is here to get JJ, figured you'd wanna say bye." Jensen says. I nod my head and walk into the hallway heading down to where I hear the voices, I smile when I see Danneel, she smiles. 

"Hi! How are you? I'm sorry about not being able to take Husk..." Danneel says a frown coming to her face. 

"It's perfectly fine." I say laughing. JJ runs over to me and I kneel down so she can hug me and I hug back. 

"I love you JJ, be good, I'll see you when your daddy and I come back okay?" She nods her head and smile kissing my cheek and I kiss her forehead. She runs over to her dad and gives him a hug goodbye before she goes back to her mother and takes her bag with her as she walks out Husk walks with them and licks JJ's face goodbye then comes back to the house. 

"I'm sorry about earlier." Jensen says once JJ and Danneel are pulled away in the car. 

"It's fine... I think I'm going to go finish packing for heading back to Canada." I say heading down the hall, before I got far. Jensen's hand was on my wrist pulling me back against him. 

"I love you." He whispers as he kisses me gently, once we finish kissing, I look up into his beautiful green eyes. 

"I love you too." I say smiling at him.
