Kakorrhaphiophobia: the fear of failure

Roonie's POV

"Are you serious, Grayson?!" Ethan yelled as Grayson and I walked into the house. "You snapped at reporters?!"

"It wasn't my fault!" Grayson groaned. I felt guilty. Grayson wouldn't be stuck in this situation if it weren't for me.

"It was my fault," I spoke up.

"Roonie, this was not you fault. Stop," Grayson said holding me behind him.

"Grayson, you know how people can twist stories. And now you're dragging Roonie into it too!" Ethan sighed. "The fandom is going crazy!"

"Don't you think I know that?" Grayson asked with a groan.

"You didn't have to snap at the reporters."

"But I didn't! I simply asked them to give me some personal space."

I looked back and forth between the two of them. They continued to argue and I got a little tired of standing there.

I sighed and lied my head on his arm and hugging it. I felt Grayson's body loosen up a bit.

"I'm done arguing, E." He looked down at me. "Let's go, Roo."

I sighed as Grayson held me close behind him so that I'd follow him to his room.

"Bye, Ethan!" I said with a smile.

He waved before taking another sip of his drink.

Grayson and I walked into his room. He immediately sat down in his spinning chair. I kicked off my shoes and got under the covers, getting comfortable.

"You like my bed?" He asked with a chuckle.

"I love it." I pulled the blanket over my body and hugged the pillow next to me.

"Scoot over, I'm tired."

"You have to say please, Bailey." He laughed.

"It's my bed."

"And I'm not moving until you say please."

"I will lay on top of you if you don't move this instant, Veronica Carter."

"Ooh feisty! I like it." I smiled.

"You're so annoying." He jumped onto the bed and lied on top of me squeezing me tightly.

"Get off! I can't breath!" I yelled dramatically gasping for air.

He laughed and rolled off of me. He got off of the bed and moved the covers, getting under. We both lied there silently as I hugged one of the pillows.

I looked over at him and saw him looking back at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing, you're just a sight for sore eyes."

I smiled and moved the pillow. I quickly hugged his body, it being a lot more comfortable than the pillow.

...

*Saturday night. Prom*

"You look gorgeous, Roonie," Charlie said as I looked in the mirror.

I smoothed down the baby blue laced dress that Charlie and I went shopping for a few nights ago. I paired it with a pair of white converse.

"George is one lucky guy," she said with a laugh.

I tucked a strand of my straightened light brown hair behind my ear and looked in the mirror again.

"Is it too late to cancel?" I asked.
