ombrophobia - the fear of rain
Roonie's POV:

"I need my badge," I said looking around the apartment again.

"Maybe you left it at Grayson's house," Charlie said.

I sighed and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I quickly dialed Grayson's number.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Hey, is my badge at your house?" I asked.

"I don't know... I'll look for it and let you know if I find it."

"Okay thanks."

"Roonie-" I ended the phone call.

"What'd he say?" Charlie asked.

"He said he'd look for it and get back to me."

I sighed and continued to search through the living room.

"Have you talked to Donovan?"

"No. He's been ignoring my calls and the only things he's texted me is he misses me. I think I might go over to his apartment later to see if my badge is there and have a talk."

"Are you okay?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah. It's just confusing right now. I don't know what to believe. I mean, I know out of Grayson and Donovan, I'd believe Grayson. But I'm having difficulty figuring out what's true and what's not."

"Grayson wouldn't lie to you, Roonie."

"I know," I said. "But if he's not lying, then that means what he said about Donovan is true."

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"That you have to go through that. I really am. But in the end, it'll be worth it."

-

"V, you've got the patient in room 309," Amanda said handing me a clipboard. "And if you don't find your badge tomorrow, I can get you a knew one."

"Alright. Thank you." I walked down the hall and found room 309.

"Hello, I'm Veronica, I'll be your nurse today," I said with a smile. "What's your name?"

"Princess."

I stopped for a moment. It's okay, there are thousands of girls named Princess in the world. "Cool. Um, what brings you here today?"

"An ultrasound," she said softly.

"Oh, okay. Is there anyone else here with you?"

"No, it's just me." I smiled and walked over. I wrapped the sphygmomanometer around her upper arm. I sighed and tried to make small talk.

"So... are you from here?"

"No, I'm just here to visit and look at some apartments."

"Oh, cool. Where are you from?"

"New Mexico," she said with a smile. "Well, I used to go to school and I decided to move there, but I'm from Kalamazoo."

"Kalamazoo?"

"Yeah. Kalamazoo, Michigan."

"Oh, cool." I smiled. "My boyfriend is from Portage, Michigan."

"Really? I went to Portage Northern," she said with a smile.

"Um... I think my boyfriend went to Portage Northern or Portage Central. I always get confused."

"So, how long have you guys been together?" She asked.
