thermophobia - the fear of heat
Grayson's POV

"Time for bed, Sean," I said while checking my phone.

"But Daddy," he complained. "One more hour."

"I already gave you an extra hour." I chuckled. I got up and picked his small body off of the couch. "Besides, mommy would kill me if she found out I let you stay up this late."

"I would never let her kill you." I laughed.

I walked into his room and lied him down on his bed.

"I already brushed my teeth and washed my face," he said. He smiled so I could see. I smiled back at him.

"I know. You convinced me to give you an extra hour right after you did." He laughed.

"Why don't you talk to mommy anymore?" He asked softly.

"I talk to her still. She just needs some space. Don't worry about it, okay?"

"Okay." I tucked him in.

"Goodnight," I said placing a kiss on his forehead.

"Goodnight, Dad."

"Sweet dreams."

"Sweet dreams, Dad." I ran my hand through his hair.

"I love you, Sean."

"I love you too." I placed one more kiss on his forehead before turning on his lava lamp and walking out. I shut the light off and left the door just a crack open so I could hear him.

I walked into the kitchen and cleaned up. I sighed. Rain still poured down on the roof, but it was peaceful and I liked it that way.

There was a knock at the door. I checked my phone. It was 11 at night. Who would come over at 11 at night? I sighed and turned off the sink. I wiped my hands down on a towel before walking over to the door. I opened it.

"Roonie, what the hell?" I said immediately pulling her into the house. "You're soaked."

"I know." Her eyes were puffy and red.

"Are you okay?" I asked. "Why didn't you use your key?"

"I- I don't know." I sighed.

"Come on. Let's get you into some warm clothes." I held her hand and guided her to my room. I grabbed a pair of sweats and a hoodie. I handed them to her and she walked into the bathroom and changed.

I walked out of the room and made some hot chocolate for her to drink.

"Grayson?"

"Kitchen," I replied.

She walked into the kitchen. She was shivering.

"Your hot chocolate will be ready in a few minutes. What were you thinking, Roo? You know you get sick easily," I said. I placed the back of my hand on her forehead to check her temperature. She was okay.

"You were right," she said before starting to cry.

"Roonie." I pulled her into my arms and hugged her.

"Princess is pregnant. I did her ultrasound, but I didn't know it was her. And then I walked into his apartment and she was there." She cried.

"It's okay, Roonie. I'm here," I said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know who else to go to." She sobbed and I held the back of her head. "I didn't wanna rain on Charlie and Dylan's parade and... and I didn't wanna tell Kian. And I was gonna go to Dennis, but he's probably asleep for work tomorrow. I shouldn't even be here. I didn't believe you-"
