pemmaphobia - the fear of cake
Roonie's POV

I shivered and curled up even more into a ball. The sound of birds and crickets filling my ears. My shoulder ached. I heard soft familiar breathing and my eyes shot open. I turned to see Grayson asleep beside me on the slide.

"Shoot," I said shooting up and reaching into my pocket for my phone. 7 am. "Grayson."

"Hmm."

"Grayson, wake up."

He opened his eyes to see me and shot awake, removing his arm from under my head. My head fell back and the slide.

"Ow," I said rubbing the back of my head.

"Sorry. We fell asleep?" He looked around and rubbed his eyes. I sat up.

"Yeah. It's 7 in the morning. We should head back before anyone realizes we're gone."

"Ethan and I are supposed to be on breakfast duty today." He yawned. I stood up.

"Well, then let's go before anyone wakes up. I'll go pick up Sean's cake, don't worry."

"Okay."

We walked back to camp. There was no one around. Ethan stood making breakfast.

"Where have you guys been?" He whispered. "You never came back to the tent."

"We went for a walk and ended up falling asleep at the playground," Grayson said washing his hands and then walking over to help Ethan.

I left them and walked over to Charlie's tent. She was asleep. "Charlie."

"Yes?"

"Wake up." She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"What?"

"If Donovan asks, I slept in your tent last night-"

"Where were you?" She asked. She was intrigued by what I said and was now wide awake.

"I went for a walk with Grayson and we ended up falling asleep at the little playground over there."

"Okay, I'll cover for you."

"Thank you. I'm gonna hop in the shower real quick and then run to the store to pick up Sean's cake."

"Okay." She lied back down and pulled the blanket over her head.

I walked over to my tent. Donovan was asleep. I quietly crawled in. I grabbed my bag of clothes and my shower bag and shoes. I left the tent and walked over to the showers.

Grayson's POV:

"I think you should tell her," Ethan said while making toast. I was flipping pancakes beside him.

"How do I tell her that her boyfriend is cheating on her?" I asked. "That's really hard to break to someone."

Ethan sighed. "I don't know, man. Are you sure you heard it correctly?"

"Yeah."

I angrily grabbed my clothes and walked over to the showers. I needed to be alone and the only place where that would happen is the showers. Roonie left and I had no idea where she was. She wasn't picking up anyone's calls, even Dylan.

"That stupid piece of shit has to ruin everything," I mumbled. "I can't-"

"Babe, don't worry. I'll see you soon," I heard Donovan say. He was talking to Roonie? Why did she call him over me? "Princess, it's okay."
