Atelophobia: the fear of imperfection or not being good enough

Roonie's POV

"Say cheese!" Grayson said as he took pictures of me from across the table.

"Stop!" I laughed while trying to cover my face.

"Aw! This one's cute!" He said showing me the picture.

I just rolled my eyes and continued to eat my grilled cheese sandwich.

"So... You graduate next week," he said with a smile. "Are you happy to finally be done with school?!"

"Well, I'm going to college, Grayson."

"College? I didn't know you were going to college!"

"Yeah, I'm going on a volleyball scholarship."

"You play volleyball?!" He smiled. "You didn't tell me that."

"Really?" I asked. He nodded. "Oh, well, I've been playing volleyball since I was 11. I'm a setter and last October, I got a scholarshop to USC."

"What?! That's so cool, we need to celebrate!"

"I already celebrated with Dylan, Charlie, and Kian."

"But not with me!" He leaned over the table and took a bite of my sandwich. "Is that cheese?"

I nodded.

"Ugh, I'm supposed to be dairy free!" He groaned.

"You're a fake." I laughed.

He rolled his eyes. "Anyway, You didn't celebrate with me..."

"Well, that's because you didn't know me at the time."

"Well... I do now." I smiled.

"Homework time!" I smiled as I grabbed his hand and we walked to my room.

He took his spot on my bed getting comfy. I immediately went straight to my desk and began doing my Anatomy homework.

"Roonie?" Grayson spoke up.

"Yes?"

"I'm bored!" He complained. I looked over at him. He was lying on his back and staring at the ceiling.

"Well, what do you wanna do?" I asked.

"Anything that doesn't involve you doing homework." I laughed a bit. He turned his head to face me, his gorgeous hazel eyes meeting mine.

How do you tell the guy that you turned down, that you think you're catching feelings?

"I have to finish this assignment," I said softly, avoiding eye contact in fear that I might fall for him even more.

"When is it due?"

"Next Monday."

"That's a whole week from now!" He laughed.

"You know I hate procrastination." I continued to type on my laptop. His hand sneaked around my body and shut the laptop causing me to flinch. "Grayson, you scared me."

"Sorry," he smiled a cheeky smile. His hand stayed on top of my laptop holding the lid down. "Let's go hang out. And then when you get back, you can finish the assignment."

"We hang out everyday though..."

"I know. But we always sit in your room and do homework."

"You don't want to do homework with me?"

"Of course. I do." He sighed. "But I hate seeing you always stressed out while doing your homework. Let's go have some fun and relieve your stress."
