melophobia - the fear of music
Roonie's POV
"Sean, wake up and brush your teeth!" I called for the 5th time while doing my hair.
"But mommy, it's Saturday!" He whined tiredly, walking into my bathroom.
"Hurry and get ready, baby. I have work."
I ran my straightener through my hair once again and watched Sean hop onto his step stool and brush his teeth.
"Brush your teeth good." He nodded and did as told.
I finished doing my hair and quickly applied mascara to my eye lashes and chapstick.
"Sean get some clothes on when you're done. And put something in your backpack to change into just in case."
He ran off to his room. I changed into my uniform.
"Roonie!" Dylan called.
"Yeah?!"
"Do you have any toothpaste?!"
"Come get it!"
I heard Dylan's footsteps down the hall. He walked into my room.
"It's in the mirror shelf."
"Thanks, there was no more toothpaste in the cupboard."
"Okay. Just remind me to get toothpaste when I go grocery shopping tomorrow."
"Okay." He answered walking out of my room.
"Sean, are you ready?!" I asked.
"Yeah!" He answered. I walked over to his room with my backpack on. Sean was wearing his grey sweatpants and matching hoodie.
"Are you wearing a shirt under?" He nodded. "What did you pack in your bag?"
"Shorts, a T-shirt, underwear, and socks."
"Did you pack your medicine?" He nodded. "How much do you take if you're having an allergic reaction."
"Two teaspoons."
"Did you pack a teaspoon just in case?"
"Yup." He smiled.
"Do you remember mommy's number?"
"760-434-6789," he repeated.
"Okay, let's go."
He grabbed my hand and we walked out of the house.
"Bye Dylan! Bye Charlie!" I called.
"Bye!" They both answered.
Dylan came running toward the front door.
"Bye, Sean!" Dylan said with a smile.
"Goodbye, Uncle Dylan." Sean gave Dylan a tight hug.
They were like best friends and I know that Dylan's probably sad that he might be losing his best friend to Grayson. But Dylan understands the importance of Sean knowing his father.
"Mom?" I looked down at Sean while opening the door.
"Yes, Sean?"
"Where are we going."
I opened the door and he hopped in, buckling himself up. "You're going to go to your dad's house today."
I got in the car and started the engine. I quickly pulled out.
