AoT SnK: (Jean x OC) Something worth fighting for

Chapter Twelve

                I felt a hand hold my head close, blocking it from the glass once we broke through the window. I hold onto my saviour frightened, i had thought i was going to fall to my death. When i worked up the courage to look up i saw my saviour was Jean. I looked into his hazel eyes, i was so thankful for his help.

                "Th-Thanks Jean." i stuttered. I felt my face heat up as i realized i had landed on top of him. "s-sorry!" i moved off him and looked around. Some of our soldiers were missing but most of us made it. I turn around and see some of the soldier who were responsible for our gas.

                Jean had saw them too and hit one of them. Marco was holding him back as i tried to calm him down. "Jean it wasnt their fault! It was the Titans!" I shouted. Before Jean could reply, A Titan had pushed its head against the wall making a whole. The group screamed and ran in terror. Jean and I stood there, watching the Titans grin at us.

                 I subconciously grabbed Jean's jacket sleeve, finding some comfort. Time slowed down for us as a gigantic fist had punch the titan in the face snding it flying with its buddy that was next to it. What is that?!

                A titan with teal green eyes appeared but showed no interest in us as it walked away. Mikasa and Connie who was carrying Armin flew in from the hole landing infront of us. Rose followed shortly behind them, a grin on her face when she saw that i was still here. I ran up and hugged her, relieved she was still alive.

                 "Kat, you okay?" she asked, returning to her calm normal self. I nodded grinning and glance at Jean who was just as relieved that everyone made it back. Connie filled us in about the "unique variant" titan, and how it fights other titans. Everyone was in awe, but we had other things to worry about. 

                We all knew that there were seven titans below where the gas was, so Armin came up with a plan to get rid of them. Jean had come back into the room with a few others carrying boxes of guns. While everyone was preparing themselves accordingly, Rose and I had been assigned to shoot the titans in the eye, I leaned against the wall watching everyone gain a little more hope. I didn't notice Jean come up to me till he started talking. "I haven't been able to ask you this, but are you okay?" he asked, eyeing me, making sure im telling the truth. That didn't stop me from lying though.

                     I smiled sadly and nodded. "yeah..Ill manage.." i murmured. Jean moved closer to me "I'm sorry about Gem...I know she was the last family you had.."Jean struggled for words instead he let his actions take over. Jean had gently grabbed my shoulders and  brought me close to him. I held onto his strong arms as he hugged me. My face heated up when i felt his warm dry lips press against my forehead.

                 "J-Jean.." i stuttered. Jean stepped back quickly looking away embarrassed. "S-sorry.I didnt know how else to comfort you.." he confessed. I smiled as Jean walked off awkwardly to prepare for the attack. I can almost forget he likes Mikasa....

                Rose and I were in the second row of the gunmen as the lift went down towards the basement. Everyone held their guns steady, waiting for the titans to come closer to us. Time went by slowly as the titans had come closer and closer to the lift. We waited till our guns nearly touched the titans eyes. I aimed right for the pupil of the tallest titan there, and waited till Marco shouted "Fire!" Gunshots exploded inside of the room and the seven athletic soldiers came down to cut the nape of the titans. Only Connie and Sasha didn't cut deep enough so the titans turned to them. 

                Sasha stared in terror, "Im so sorry" she murmured. Connie was cornered by the other titan and the titan Sasha had fail to kill belly flopped, barely missing Sasha. Mikasa and Annie jumped to attack the two titans sending them to the ground. Sasha and Connie gave their thanks, since they had saved their lives. I sighed relieved that we hadn't lost any more comrads. Everyone jumped with excitement as we refilled our gas tanks. I sat opposite of Marco and Jean, who were talking about leader ship. 

                "Jean you are a good leader.." i added. hoping to make him feel better. Jean glanced at me and gave me a faint smile gesturing that he understood what i was trying to do. After everyone refilled their tanks we took off to climb the walls. Everyone left the HQ and stood on a roof nearby watching the unique variant fighting three other titans who were eating the teal green eyed titan. I ignored everyone's argument and watched  as the titan fought the titans off before collapsing. We all watched as a body began to come out of the nape of its neck. I knew those teal green eyes were familiar....because all along, the titan was Eren. 

               *Rose's POV*

                Everyone watched as Eren slowly emerged from the titan. Mikasa had let go of all reason and jumped down to Eren, holding his body and crying into the air. I glanced around to see everyone elses expressions. Jean looked at Eren with a mixture of shock and horror, Everyone else pretty much had the same look. Except for Kat, she had a sad smile while looking down at Mikasa. She feels pity for Mikasa and Eren. I didn't blame her, since if this gets out then Eren could get killed. What will happen to them now?
