AoT SnK: (Jean x OC) Something worth fighting for

Chapter twenty .5

                                *Rose's POV*

                We failed the 57th expedition...I thought life in the scout regiment would be hard, with pain and loss, but..I wasn't prepared for this much death. Kat was among the injured, Captain Levi's squad were all wiped out except Eren, and the casualty rate was horrible. I shuddered at the thought of losing all those people. Was it my fault i couldn't save them? Dad..Could i have made a difference?

                I leaned against the wall as i kept watch over Kat, who had taken some damage to her head, left arm and ankle. Could i have helped her too? I stare down at the floorboards, thinking back to my father's death. I couldn't help him then either...My thoughts began to wander to captain levi, who lost his entire squad..all his friends..I could see right through his stoic expression, i knew he was sad, and angry for the deaths of his comrads. Even if Levi won't admit it, i could see that he was in pain.

                Jean came in through the door, and sat down beside Kat's bed. Those two need to get together already.    I sighed and walked out the door. I stopped infront of captain Levi's office door. I felt the urge to talk to the captain, even though most of the time we argued over cleaning, I felt like i should comfort him if anything. I jumped when i heard a voice "Stop standing out there and just come in" I swallowed my fear and opened my door. "Rose, what brought you to stand outside my door?" Levi ask annoyed.

                "Hello to you too." I replied. "Sir, i came in to ask you something personal.." I murmured. "Make it quick rookie." My anger grew as Levi acted so cold and distant. "I'll take my time, thanks.: i replied with a smirk. "captain...are you okay?" I asked. Levi glanced back at me with his stoic expression. "what do you mean?" he said. I shook my head and sighed. "Your squad, they were your friends, and you cared for them a lot. I know better than just to think your so cold hearted." I said. Levi stopped writing and faced me, with a chilling glare.

                "Anything else?" Levi hissed. I kept my gaze level with his. "You can glare all you want, i'm not leaving." I said. Keep calm Rose..."Captian, i just wanted to inform you that...you can rely on me. I'll listen to your troubles, and your sorrow. and i won't be going anywhere so take your time.." i whispered the last part then walked quickly out of Levi's office.  I walked to my room and looked out at the starry sky. Levi...you can talk to me..I thought before laying down on my bed and falling asleep.
