Sixteen: LOOK TO THE SHADOWS

You, see that girl right there in the corner of the room with her head in her hands?

You don't?

Well, I tell you why she's in that corner. She there because she's trying to escape, escape from the world and the chains that imprisoned her there. But when someone does eventually find her and spends their time with her, they realise that she's trying to hold back the tears from falling down her already wet cheeks and landing on her perfect hands, that can hold the world. Do they realise that she is a broken toy and unfixable so as like all the others they leave because who wants to talk to an unimportant, damaged and worthless creature?

They realise that she's pushing people away from her. But they don't know why. She's pushing them away because she's so afraid of hurting them and so she sacrifices herself to the abandonment instead so she doesn't see them cry and to feel the way she does. So she sits there waiting for someone to tell her that she can be fixed all it takes is a little bit of love, but then who could love a girl so broken? It's a lost cause they all said as they called her by her name and with a short kiss on her cracked and dry cheek said goodbye.

There she waits and she slowly becomes invisible so no one can see what happens when the same heartbreaking story repeats itself over and over again.
