Yellow Oval Room
Jackie sat alone. Jack was at the Oval and Caroline was at school, as was John-John. The children were now at a school in the city, Caroline at one for girls and John-John at one for boys.
She sat watching a movie until a CBS News Bulletin came up across the screen interrupting the film. Jackie sat up and listened.
This is a special new bulletin from CBS News. In Washington, District Columbia, seven shots were fired at Vice President Kennedy's home in Georgetown several moments ago. Neighbours who are on the scene have reported that the Vice President has been seriously wounded by the shooting.
Jackie nearly dissolved. Teddy! She was pregnant but she could run. She immediately switched off the TV and ran to inform Jack.
Mrs Lincoln's Room
Jackie burst through the door and had to stop to catch her breath. "Mrs Kennedy!" Mrs Lincoln got up to support her.
Jackie held in her tears. "I need to see my husband" Jackie spoke. Mrs Lincoln immediately allowed her to go in. Jackie slowly opened the door and went in.
Oval Office
Jackie went in and looked at her husband blankly. "Jackie what is it?" Jack asked. Bobby looked worriedly at his sister in law.
"Jackie what is it?" Bobby asked. Jackie still couldn't answer. Jack came over and hugged her. "Kid what is it?" Jack asked.
Jackie sobbed gently. "Teddy won't be coming in today".
