Jack and Jackie's house
Hyannis Port
August 11th
Marine One landed on the lawn in front of the Main House. Jack helped his now 7 month pregnant wife out the helicopter and they dashed towards their children who had arrived the day prior. "Daddy!" Caroline called as she ran at full speed towards her father. "Buttons!" Jack called as he grabbed Caroline and threw her into the air. "Oh my beautiful little buttons I missed you!" Jack kissed her head before putting her back down.
Then he pulled John - John into a hug. "I missed you daddy!" John-John grinned as his father hugged him. "I miss you too Sam" Jack joked. His son laughed. "My name isn't Sam daddy! It's John!" John made everyone laugh, especially Jackie who was now walking wit Caroline's hand in her left hand and Jack's in the other.
They walked to their house and got inside. John and Caroline decided to go down the beach with Bobby and their cousins. However Jackie decided she needed some rest and so did Jack. They settled down for a nap.
The First Family were only in Hyannis Port for one reason. The next day would mark 22 years since Joe Jr was killed in the war. Joe Sr, even though he couldn't speak or walk, had organised a memorial service on the Front Lawn. All the Press would be there. Jackie had decided to pack her black Givenchy suit that Oleg had made for her years ago.
Jack of course packed a full funeral attire. A black suit with a jacket that had a tail and a black tie. Unlike the socks he normally wore, he opted for black ones that would come just 2 inches above his ankle. It would be an emotional day for the family. Jack however couldn't sleep at all. He kept thinking about Joe.
His smile, the way he talked to Jack. When he came home early to watch him go off to serve in the navy. The time they argued because Jack had got the medal for bravery and Joe hadn't. It made him cry. Jackie wasn't asleep. She heard Jack cry and she rolled over, sat up and hugged him. "Oh Jack, shhh" Jackie stroked his left arm and hugged him.
"Let it all out" Jackie kissed her husband's cheek. "I miss Joe" Jack sobbed. Jackie understood what he was going through. She had lost her father, he meant as much to her as Joe did to Jack. Jack held Jackie to his chest. "Jackie.." Jack paused. Jackie looked up at him. "Yes Jack?" Jackie asked. Jack kissed her. "I'd hate to lose you" Jack stroked her cheek. Jackie began to cry. "Oh I love you" she sobbed. They held each other. At this point Jackie realised just how much she meant to her husband, more than ever.
