Camila's POV:

"From: Lauren Jauregui

You better take care of that beanie, that's like my whole childhood in your hands..."

There's honestly nothing like waking up to a Lauren Jauregui text.

We had a great time yesterday. It almost felt like old times, but I would be lying if I said my feelings for her are gone. If anything, they've grown even stronger during the last year. I can't help but feel completely drawn to her mesmerizing green eyes and stare into them unconsciously. But she's going to marry someone else goddamn it, I can't go on like this.

I started writing a reply to Lauren's text when I heard a loud knock on my door. She wouldn't come here to surprise me, would she? I mean, we had fun with the catering and everything, but I wouldn't expect her to hang out with me everyday. She has a boyfriend to be with and text books to read. I'm not even a part of her life anymore, and I just can't expect things to go back to normal in a matter of days.

I walked to the front door of my new apartment anyway, and opened the door hoping to see one specific face. Instead I met another pair of green eyes I hadn't seen in a while.

"Nice PJs."

"Austin, what are you doing here?" I said hugging the young pop star I hadn't seen since he had left for his worldwide tour. I was indeed happy to see one of my closest friends, but deep inside I was hoping to see someone else.

"I'm gonna try to talk some sense into that beautiful head of yours." He explained taking a seat on my couch while I closed the wooden door behind me.

"I don't know what you mean." I answered sitting next to him.

"Come on Mila, you can't just cancel a tour because of a silly whim. Luke told me about the wedding." He said sighing.

"What makes you think this is a silly whim?" I questioned kinking an eyebrow.

Austin chuckled softly and rolled his eyes.

"What?" I asked slightly irritated by his response.

"You still love her, don't you?" He said holding his head. I tried to come up with a snarky comeback, but he was right, and I didn't see the point in lying to him when the truth was so blatantly obvious. "Do you really think you're gonna be able to stop the wedding?" Austin asked rhetorically setting his eyes on me.

"I just want to help her." I defended my decision, but in reality the prospect of stopping the wedding was obviously on my mind. Not that I thought it was possible, but I still had the tiniest bit of hope Lauren would just come around and maybe give us a chance.

"You need to let her go Camila, Lauren needs to live her own life and you have to let her do it." Austin told me with a sympathetic smile.

"I know, you're probably right, but... I just can't." I struggled to express my feelings, but Austin nodded his head anyway pretending to understand.

"Please don't throw away your career because of this Camila, you'll regret it later." He said placing a hand supportingly on my shoulder.

"I'm miserable Austin." I stated sadly and felt a tear run down my cheek. "I hate performing with my dear life. Fuck my career, I don't want it anymore. I just want to be happy once and for all. Is that too much to ask?" I added wiping the tears away from my face with the heel of my hand.

"I can tell you one thing; you won't find your happiness chasing after Lauren when she's going to marry someone else. This isn't an innocent crush anymore Camila, she's going to spend the rest of her life with this dude, whether you want it or not." Austin stated coldly.
