Camila's POV:

Who the hell is singing right now? Holy shit, I'm screwed. I might as well just go home right away because I have no chance against that girl. Maybe this is a horrible idea, I'm not going to make it. I'm just wasting my time, I'm not ready for this type of competition. Everyone is incredibly talented and I haven't had a single singing lesson in my life. And whoever is singing in the booth right now already won this shit. How am I supposed to compete against her? Fuck, I can't do this.

I tried to calm myself down taking several deep breaths. This was my dream, and I had worked so hard for this opportunity. The X Factor could end up changing my life completely and I couldn't let the pressure and nerves take that away from me, even if the competition seemed extremely tough. After all, I didn't really have anything to lose. High school was literally hell, and I had dreamt about performing for as long as I could remember. The worse thing that could happen was that I had to go back to school, but if things did work out, I could end up living the life I had always wanted.

A couple of minutes later, I got to meet the owner of the incredible voice for the first time, but I would be lying if I said I hadn't heard about her before. The amazing green eyes were even more impressive in person though, and I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful girl who also had an unfairly killer voice. She was definitely intimidating, and her presence was just indescribable but, she really didn't seem to be as bitchy as everyone said. In fact, she looked like a really cool girl, and even though I was terrified to talk to her, maybe making a friend wouldn't hurt at all.

"I like your shirt." And as soon as those words came out of my mouth, my life changed completely.

"Thanks." The green eyed girl said with a bright smile. "You're from Miami, right?"

"Yeah." I answered shyly.

"I promise I'm not a stalker, I just... I'm Lauren." She said chuckling softly.

Lauren fucking Jauregui was standing in front of me, and she was surprisingly being incredibly friendly. If you lived in Miami, then you knew who Lauren Jauregui was. I couldn't really explain why, but everyone just knew the opinionated girl from Carollton. Most girls thought she was a bitch, completely out of jealousy in my opinion, and there wasn't a single guy who wasn't hopelessly in love with her. Of course I couldn't just tell her I knew who she was a second after we actually met, but if the rumors about her were true, then I definitely wanted to have her on my side.

"I'm Camila." I said smiling nervously. "You were amazing by the way, your voice is incredible."

"Thank you, you're really sweet." Lauren said placing her hand on my shoulder, and my heart started rushing almost immediately. What the hell? She didn't even do anything, and I almost had a heart attack. "I have to go do an interview, but it was so nice to meet you. I really hope you make it, I wouldn't mind having a friend." She excused herself politely and disappeared following a producer before I could say anything else.

I had a hard time believing that had actually happened. Lauren was a freaking legend in Miami, and I obviously didn't expect to meet her at a singing competition. Everybody wanted to hang out with her because she was the coolest, most badass girl ever, and she had been extremely nice to me of all people. I just couldn't believe half of the rumors about her were true though. She seemed really sweet, and not bitchy, or a slut, or self centered at all.

I had to call Marielle right away and tell her what had happened. She had a pretty strong opinion about Lauren, even though she had never even talked to her, and I couldn't wait to let her know the rumors about her were bullshit.
