"Dinah?"
"Lauren you need to stop calling me." The Polynesian finally answered her phone after Lauren had intently tried to reach her all day.
"I'm sorry, but she's not picking up her phone. Is she with you?" The green eyed girl asked desperately.
"Who?"
"Come on D, I know she's there." Lauren replied sighing.
"She doesn't want to talk to you Lo, please stop calling." Dinah repeated her previous request.
Ever since Camila had announced she was going back to California, Lauren did everything she could think of to try to reach her, but Camila wasn't answering her calls or texts, and even though Lauren thought about going to L.A. after her, she couldn't miss class. Her final option was to call Dinah, who Lauren knew had always been Camila's confidant, but her old bandmate wasn't helping her either, leaving Lauren desperately out of ideas.
"Dinah please." The green eyed girl pleaded.
"I can't help you, I'm sorry." Dinah told her sadly.
"Then could you please tell her that I'm really sorry and that I miss her?" Lauren asked the Polynesian, her voice cracking halfway through the sentence.
"Sure, she says she'll be back for the wedding." Dinah responded.
"Okay, I love you guys, tell her I said as well." Lauren added softly, hiding the shakiness of her voice.
"Alright, we'll see you soon." Dinah assured her.
"Wait, Dinah?" Lauren stopped the taller girl before she could hang up. "Take care of her, okay?"
"Of course." Dinah said simply and finally ended the call.
At least she'd come back for the wedding, but Lauren wasn't even sure if the wedding was still on. She hadn't talked to Luis since she had seen him with another girl at her birthday party, and she honestly didn't know if marrying the Brazilian was the right choice. After all, they had both been unfaithful more than once, which was clearly far from a healthy relationship. And now that Camila was gone, everything seemed a lot clearer to Lauren. She missed her more than she could ever imagine, and felt like hell for using Camila, but deep inside she knew she had to marry Luis. Even if she'd probably regret her decision forever, Lauren also knew a relationship with Camila was impossible. The young Latina was constantly on the road, and she had to stay in New York for a couple of years finish college. Besides, she wasn't sure how her family and friends would react if she called off her wedding to date another girl.
She suddenly heard a knock on her door, and obviously expected to find Luis waiting outside of her dorm room with a bouquet of flowers and a box from an expensive jewelry.
"Hey." He mumbled nervously and entered the dorm room after Lauren took a step back to let him in.
"I thought you had been kidnapped or something." Lauren said closing the door behind her. "I hadn't heard from you in days."
"I know, I'm sorry." Luis answered meeting the green eyes in front of him. "These are for you." He added giving Lauren the flowers and box.
"Thanks." Lauren said receiving the gifts, but left them on the coffee table next to her without even opening the box. "We need to talk."
"I know." He agreed sadly. "I'm so sorry."
"Are you really?" Lauren told him skeptically and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Yes, you have no idea how sorry I am." Luis assured her and tried to hold her hand, but Lauren took a step back defensively. "Babe please, I know I screwed up, but I promise it won't happen again."
