"Mila you're really scaring us right now." Dinah commented playing nervously with her fingers. "What's going on?"
Camila had kept it a secret for months now, but her decision had been made and nothing in the world could make her changer her mind.
After the intense conversation her and Lauren had had during their album release party, Camila decided she couldn't keep pretending everything was fine anymore, and being in Fifth Harmony meant she'd have to look into Lauren's eyes everyday. Since that night, Camila and Lauren hadn't said another word to each other, which was driving both Latinas crazy, but Camila had stated they couldn't be friends anymore, and even though it was painful, Lauren respected her decision.
Their lives had changed considerably since Reflection came out. The album had been a huge hit, and their popularity had risen to unimaginable levels, but on the down low, Camila had spent several hours talking to producers on her own, and they were extremely interested. Never in a million years she'd think she'd end up taking Austin's advice, but now it seemed like the only way out of the hell she was going through.
"I'm sorry, there's just no easy way of saying this." Camila told her bandmates taking a deep breath. She tried not to look at Lauren's direction, but it was impossible. Beyond her control, her eyes drifted to where the older girl was expectantly waiting to hear what Camila had to say.
Lauren looked extremely tired. The bags under her eyes revealed she hadn't slept in days, and even though she was trying to force a smile, it was pretty obvious she wasn't great. That didn't mean she didn't look like the most flawlessly perfect person in Camila's eyes. Nothing in the world could ever change that, and maybe that was why the younger singer needed to stay away from her former best friend to stay sane.
"Camila please, just say it." Normani said breaking the awkward silence. "You're driving us crazy."
"Yeah, you can't tell us there's something urgent you need to talk to us about and then leave us in the dark forever." Dinah said anxiously. "Are you pregnant? Is that what this is about?"
"Dinah! Come on, don't joke with stuff like that." Ally scolded her seriously. "Wait, you're not, are you?" She added realizing maybe Dinah was right, but Camila shook her head instantly.
"No, I wish it was that easy." The troubled brunette answered breathily and set her eyes on Lauren once more.
"Mila please, I'm sure it can't be that bad, just tell us." Normani encouraged her with a smile.
"You're really going to hate me, and I know you won't understand why I'm doing this." Camila started saying shakily. "I just want you to know that I love you all so much, and I'm really sorry, but this is something I urgently needed to do." She continued and stopped to take a deep breath.
"Camila please! If you don't tell us right now I'm going to kick your ass." Dinah said jokingly cracking her knuckles.
Camila gave the Tongan a sad smile before setting her gaze back on Lauren, who was nervously biting her bottom lip, but hadn't voiced a single word since the reunion had started.
Just looking into the deep emerald orbs made Camila's heart break again. It was impossible for her to be in the same room as Lauren without feeling like fainting. Her chest felt constricted and the lack of oxygen made her unbearably dizzy, resulting in the unavoidable feeling of losing the control over her body completely. Camila had to take one last long breath before deciding to finally tell the girls the truth, but she knew it wasn't going to be easy, especially for her stunning former best friend.
