That morning, Camila almost had a heart attack.
"Holy shit, what are you doing here?" She exclaimed placing her hand over her heaving chest. The agitated palpitations were caused by the sudden awakening she had experienced, but the fact that Lauren had been responsible for it almost put her in cardiac arrest.
"Get up, we're going out." Lauren explained opening Camila's curtains letting the sun come in.
"Oh my God, Lauren!" The younger Latina complained covering her face from the sudden excessiveness of light with her bedsheets.
"Camz I'm serious, we need to get going if we want to do everything in the schedule." Lauren said pulling the covers away from her best friend.
"What schedule? How did you even get in?" Camila asked her confused and rubbed her eyes trying to get used to the sun.
"You left your door unlocked." She answered simply.
"No, I didn't."
"Okay, I might've told the doorman it was your birthday and I wanted to surprise you." Lauren finally admitted with a nervous smile.
"And he let you in?" Camila questioned fixing her messy morning hair. She suddenly started to feel subconscious about her looks, even if Lauren had seen her look even worse a billion times before.
"What can I say? I'm irresistible. But, that's not relevant right now, you need to get ready if we want to do everything I have planned for us." Lauren said looking at her watch for a couple of seconds before setting her gaze on her former bandmate. She couldn't avoid smiling widely at the sight of Camila in her black The 1975 shirt, her messy hair fell down her shoulders, and even though she had just woken up, her big brown eyes shone brightly.
"I'm like really confused right now." Camila said getting out of bed.
"Today's going to be the best day of your life." Lauren stated smirking, but Camila didn't look completely convinced. "Trust me on this one, okay?" She added staring into her friend's deep chocolate orbs and placed her hand on Camila's forearm assuringly.
"Okay, just tell me what to do." The younger brunette said with a somewhat shy smile.
"You have like twelve minutes to take a shower and get dressed." Lauren told her looking at her watch. "Then I'll take you out for breakfast."
"I won't say no to that." Camila said laughing softly.
"Of course you won't, but you need to hurry up or we'll have to skip that step." The green eyed girl jokingly threatened her friend.
"No, I'll be right back, I swear." Camila told her excitedly and ran to her bathroom. Lauren couldn't help but realize how her old black shirt barely covered Camila's butt, but she tried her hardest not to stare at one of the young Latina's best attributes.
After the heartfelt conversation they had had about Camila's happiness, Lauren felt it was her duty to bring her best friend back to life. After all, she knew a huge part of Camila's unhappiness had a lot to do with her wedding, but there wasn't much she could do in that department. Instead, she decided she would do everything else in her power to help Camila realize how amazing the world was. Lauren wanted to re spark her best friend's life. She hated to see how fed up Camila was with her career when she knew how much the brown eyed girl used to love music and performing. Lauren needed to remind Camila her life had meaning, even if she couldn't be the person her former bandmate wanted her to be.
Lauren sat on Camila's bed while she waited for her. She found her friend's guitar resting against the wall and strummed a couple of chords remembering about the song Camila had taught her not too long ago. She sang the lyrics of "Somebody To You" passionately, which made her realize how much she actually missed performing. Even though Lauren had told Camila those days were gone and she needed to move on, she would be lying if she said she didn't miss Fifth Harmony just as much.
